Chapter 7
I panicked when I started falling to the ground.
Think, Damon. Think!
The thing that attacked me had wrapped its claws around my chest forcing my wings to fold in my back. I tried to spread my wings but the thing has a strong grip around me. We were still falling and from where I am, the land is no farther than a kilometer. I have to get free. Fast. I spread my wings with so much force, that the claws let go of the grip it had on me. I flew farther from the one that attacked me and turned to face it. I was faced to face with a demon-creature. It has a body that was thrice as mine, eyes that glows yellow- like a reptilian’s. It has a dark-red body color, black sharp claws and midnight black wings. He was a definition of evil.
I was frozen in fear.
I need to move. I flew up to the sky as fast as I could. Behind me, I heard the demon laugh- I couldn’t distinguish the sound, all I knew was that his laughter sent chills of fear all over my body. I swerved in the clouds, wishing that I could lose him, but his laughter was getting nearer to me. And then, he suddenly appeared in front of me, eyes full of malice.
Why are you running? He asked. His voice echoed around me, it seems like his voice was everywhere.
“Wh-who are you?” I stuttered, fear flowing through my body.
You do not know me. No one knows me, he said. His voice sent another wave of fear in my body.
I was now shaking. I don’t know why I was so shaken up by him. Something about him is different. His body, his voice, everything in him emitted something I can’t explain.
With my shaking hands, I tried and summoned fire but nothing came out. I panicked as my body started shaking violently. I tried and summon again, but nothing. I tried one last time, and fire erupted into my palms. I threw them at him, he did nothing but flapped his wings so that he’ll stay in place, and my fire was out before it could even touch him. I stared at him in shock and horror.
Powers don’t work on me, he stated, and then laughed. I felt as if my body was starting to shut down with fear.
Shit. I need to do something. I summoned another fireball then threw it at him, and again, and again, and again until I lost count. He deflected all of it with one flap of his wings. I was getting weaker with every fireball I threw. I need to do something.
He flew towards me and slashed my bare chest with his claws. All of that happened in one blink that I didn’t know what happened until I felt the pain in my chest as blood started flowing down to my abdomen. I screamed in pain as I flew back away from him. My breathing turned shallow as I felt myself getting weaker every passing second. I need to fucking do something!
I flew to him with speed and punched him on the jaw. He was taken aback by my attack that he stumbled on the air. I flew to his direction to hit him again. But before I could land a hit, he flicked his hand at me and I was thrown away. I groaned as I tried to balance myself in the air.
You’re good. But your friend is struggling, he stated; fixing himself.
“What friend?” I asked calming myself as another wave of fear washed me after hearing his sinister voice.
He held his hand in front of him, a hologram appeared. In the hologram, I saw Adam fighting. I didn’t know with whom because his enemy was hidden in the shadows. Adam punched his enemy and he was about to land another blow when his enemy beat him and punched him right on his stomach. Adam clenched his stomach and stumbled back gasping for air. He sent a sharp gust of wind to his enemy’s direction but was destroyed with the enemy’s shield. That must’ve been very thick because that kind of wind can cut through metals. Adam looked at his enemy with a horrid expression. His enemy extended its sword, but then, the holograph vanished with a smoke.
