Baekhyun's POV:
I was having the best time of my life, when I was dancing with Taeyeon. She's so beautiful, I just want to keep her for myself forever. Until that douchebag, Jongsuk took her away from me. I almost fought back, but I have to let her go.
I heard the words, "Will you marry me?" Everyone and including myself looked up to see who said those words. It was Jongsuk. He's proposing to Taeyeon, and I feel like running upstairs to steal her away. But my feet were glued to the floor. "Please don't say yes." Everyone was the opposite, they want her to say yes.
Then, Taeyeon shook her head and ran away. Jongsuk followed her, and everyone went back to what they were doing. I sighed in relief, but I still decided to follow her as well. I ran up the stairs and I saw a shoe on the last step that looks like it's made of glass. "It's probably Taeyeon's." I mumbled to myself. I took it and ran outside.
She's nowhere to be seen. I ran to Jongsuk's side and asked him what the heck is going on. "Where is she!?" I lost my temper, and I'm mad at him for proposing to Taeyeon like that. They literally just met a few days ago. "Her carriage took her away." He said quietly, while the rain poured down harder. I don't care if I look like a mess, but right now I care about Taeyeon's whereabouts. "What do you mean?" He looked at me with teary eyes. Usually he's a happy man with the brightest smile, it's weird to see him like this. "She's gone."
I need him to give me more details. But he doesn't want to. "JUST LEAVE ME ALONE!" Jongsuk pushed me away, and I almost lost my balance. I grabbed his arm tightly and showed him my bad side. "Tell me what happened or I will beat you to the pulp." This time he looked scared. I let go of him slowly, to let him explain. "She was in the middle of the street. And then there was a car getting closer to her. At first I thought she was going to get hit, but instead the car stopped and Taeyeon got in the car. Then the car drove away...." I don't believe him. He's an actor, maybe he's just acting this out. "I'm not lying." I think he read my mind.
"But why? Did you see who was driving?" He shook his head and I ran off. It happened again. She ran away again. Like what she did 7 years ago. I need to know where she is. And if she's ok. The only thing I have from her is her glass slipper. It's kind of ironic, how this is turning out like Cinderella.
It's already midnight, and it's still raining outside. I'm texting Jongsuk to give me her number. I heard the door of my dorm open and my group members just arrived from the ball. "Why did you leave us at the masquerade ball? We were looking for you!" Chanyeol kept talking, but right now I'm too busy to speak. "We heard that Jongsuk proposed to Taeyeon, but she rejected him." D.O said and everyone nodded their heads. "It was kind of funny." Kai said.
Jongsuk finally texted back and he gave me Taeyeon's phone number. I went to my room without disturbing my members and called her. It keeps ringing, but she won't answer. "Please leave a message after the tone..." I imitated the woman's voice annoyingly. But I won't give up. The rest of the night, I left messages and calls. And still she won't even bother to read my texts and call me back.
After 3 days, she finally texted back. "Can you stop calling/texting me?" I don't care if she texted me a mean message, at least I know she's alive. "Where are you?" She probably won't answer my question. But it was worth the try. "Somewhere far away. Far far away from Jongsuk....and you." I searched for her phone's location and to my surprise it's at New Zealand. Thanks to the "Find IPhone" app, I now know where she is. But I won't tell her that I know.
"Why did you leave me? Again?" She made me so worried for three days. I barely got any sleep. She replied back quickly. "I'm tired, Baek. My career is in jeopardy because of love. I'm not willing to take the risk." Taeyeon would choose career over love, but for me I would choose her over anything else in this world. She means that much to me. "At least you're ok. That's all that matters." I turned my phone off to resist from texting her. I know what I got to do.
I told my members that I'm going to New Zealand to find Taeyeon. They understood, but not my manager. "We have a schedule tomorrow at Music Bank. You're not going anywhere." I already have my suitcase and everything packed up. It seems like I'm running away. And I won't give up that easily. Surprisingly my members backed me up. "Baekhyun needs to go. It's very important." They all said. I'm so thankful to have such caring friends. Our manager gave us a stern look. "This is in the contract. You need to follow my orders...or you will be kicked out of the group." My group members gave me a worried look. Then I confidently shook my head. "I'm going to New Zealand. And when I come back, I'm still going to be in this group. I care about Exo too." Everyone continued to stare at me. I gulped, I really hope that our manager will let me go.
"You owe me a big one. I'll just tell Mr. Lee that you had a major injury." We thanked him and I smiled back. I also gave everyone a hug before I leave. "Goodbye! And make sure to succeed!" Suho said and everyone waved goodbye.
I took out Taeyeon's glass slipper from my backpack. I really hope that I won't mess things up this time. "I will find you, Taeyeon. I will always find you. Wherever you are...."
