Kendra's POV

"What?!" I asked shocked about his answer. I was expecting a whole lot of different scenarios I would have to do but not that.

"I said that you will be my date to my family dinner tonight. In return you and your.. friend will get a better job with better pay."

"Yeah, I got that very clearly but... I was not expecting out of all things that I could've done, this is it."

"Well, I happen to need a date that isn't a trashy whore that I usually take. I usually take women who throw themselves at me and my little sister doesn't like that for me or my brother. You did just the opposite so I am sure that will make her very happy."

I glance at the picture frames on his desk. There are two, one of him at highschool graduating because he looked way younger. An older couple was next to him grinning. They must be his parents. The other was of a girl who looked to be about my age or maybe younger. She was on Eric's back wearing a matching grin as Eric at the camera. That must be his little sister. So the other picture on the filing cabinet must be his brother. He looks like he is very close with his family in the photos.

If he wasn't such a rich asshole than I would deffiently date him. This thought made me remember that I haven't been dating for three years now. I have no idea how to act especially when the guy is from a rich family and wants to make me an escort for the night.

"Just so you know, I haven't been on a date in years so I might suck at this dinner."

He smirks, "We'll certainly have time to get you ready. First, I am going to tell you everything you need to know about my family and how to act tonight. Then, Veronica at the front desk will come with you and me to go shopping for you and go to the salon." He explains and opens up one of his draws connected to his desk and pulls out a pad of paper and a pen pushing them towards me.

"Take notes because I will quiz you when we're getting your dress and everything afterwards."

I simply nodded and grabbed the paper and pen that he provided for me. I gulped as he told me everything about his family. He started with who was all going to be there. It would just be his close family and their dates. His parents, brother and his date, sister and her date, and us. He went on to his family one by one. His parents were the best parents. He didn't say that but by the way he talked about them, I could tell he thought very highly of them.

Next was his brother who is also younger than him because he is the oldest. His name was Daniel and was my age. They were brothers and he felt like he could go to him for anything. Again, he doesn't exactly say this stuff but I get rid of the extra stuff and pull out the important things in what he's saying.

He obviously saved the best for last and his favorite family member. His younger sister just turned twenty one and he was helping her launch her clothing line. He talked about her like she was the sweetest thing in the world.

"We are a busy family and we all have our own things going on so we do talk about business as well. Now, got all that?" He asked.

I nodded and he gave me a return nod, "Good, I will send Veronica a quick call. In the mean time, out my office. My assistant will show you to the front waiting room. I have work to do." He said not making eye contact with me and writing something down on paper.

"How long are you going to be?" I asked still sitting in my chair. My apron from the restaurant was thrown in his office trashcan.

He whipped his head up to look at me with a stern hard look, "However long I will take. Now, get out my office and wait or I will put you in prison and you really will have nothing to lose!" He spit out at me like his words were venom.

I bite my tongue from saying anything back no matter how much I wanted to tell him that I think he is the most conceited, rich, fucking asshole ever! I kept my cool and walked across his large office and out the doors without a glance at the CEO of this company. I'm gonna have to deal with it for the next eight Eric Kinsley filled hours.

When I walk out I see that the desk next to Eric's office isn't empty any more. A young and dare I say attractive man looked up and smiled brightly at me. I smiled back in return. He stood up still wearing a bright smile. He put his hand out for me to shake which I did politely.

"I am Ashton Walls and Mr.Kinsley's personal assistant." He said pulling his hand away from mine.

"I am Kendra, Kendra Peterson and Eric's girlfriend." I said smiling back at him. I figured I would practice now. The words didn't feel right coming from my mouth because I would never date a guy like Eric Kinsley but if Celeste and myself get a better job together and I can move on with my terrible life than I am going to do it.

Ashton changed his polite smile to a smirk which took me by surprise, "What?" I asked him raising my eyebrows in question.

"I think you are going to do great at tonight's family dinner. Real good acting skills Miss.Peterson but shall we get you to Veronica so you can get your outfit for tonight?"

I sighed, "So you know?"

"No, I just wanted to see if he hired an escort or not. I got my answer." He said with all seriousness.

I stared at him with a stunned expression. Eric is going to kill me. I do not want Eric Kinsley lecturing me before I haven't had atleast one drink to make me forget everything I am going have to do the rest of this day and night.

Ashton grinned, "Ahh, the look on your face is boasting my ego so much right now."

He leaned in and whispered in my ear, "I'm a good actor too, princess."

I forced my self not to blush and backed up away from him. He smirked at me sending me a wink before he motioned for me to follow him. I did glaring at the back of his head. Something told me that he was one of those players who thought he could get any girl he wanted.

When we stepped into the empty elevator I asked, "How did you know about the family dinner?"

He shrugged his shoulders, "I am his assistant. Plus I happen to be picking up his little sister who happens to be taking me to this family dinner."

"And does the big CEO know that your going with his little sister?"

"Nope he does not. I am hoping I get his sister to actually like me so she can convince him not to fire me."

I chuckled, "Better to ask for forgiveness than permission right?"

He grinned at me, "I think we are going to be great friends Kendra Peterson."

I laugh as we exit the elevator to the first floor where Veronica's smiling face is waiting for us. I don't see Eric yet. He said he was coming with and was going to quiz me while at it.

"Hi, I am Veronica and believe it or not, this one here's older sister." she said giving Ashton a side hug while Ashton rolled his eyes.

"If you don't mind me asking how old are you guys?"

"Ashton is twenty one and I'm twenty seven." She replied smiling brightly at me.

Before I could open my mouth to say something back the CEO himself voice came sternly as he walked passed us, "Come. I don't want this to take all day."

I sighed as all of us filed into the back of the car behind him like he told us to. This is going to be a long next eight hours for sure.

I am so so so so sorry :( I will be updating again soon so don't worry and please dont hate me...I just have a lot of stuff going on with school plus I am writing my other books.
