Hazel's POV~
I was alone. Concealed in a cell without anyone, not even my pokemon. I only wanted to help, but they were too strong. They stole my best friends, my pokemon, and locked me away. I could hear the cries of innocent pokemon being attacked. Fighting for the safety of the city.
I hugged my knees and let silent tears fall. I would never see any of them again. They were my only family. I convinced myself I would be stuck in here forever. In the basement of the Rocket hideout with no escape.
The door opened and light filled the room. I wiped away the tears so those stupid Rocket admins wouldn't see. But it wasn't a Rocket who came in. It was a trainer around the age of sixteen, my age, with raven hair and golden eyes similar to mine. A Typhlosion followed him.
"They're not in here either!" the trainer shouted. I wasn't sure who he was talking to, though. His gaze fell on me and his eyes widened. "Woah, Silver! There's a girl in here!"
Another boy walked in, who I assumed was Silver, with long red hair and piercing silver eyes. A Feraligatr walked in from behind. He mumbled something I couldn't make out and I just sat there awkwardly.
"Of course not!" the trainer with the Typhlosion yelled. "We can't just leave the girl here!" He turned and faced me once more. "Don't mind him, miss. I'll get you out of there."
"I have a name, ya know," I said. I was getting tired of him calling me 'the girl' and 'miss'.
Typhlosion slashed the bars open and its trainer chuckled slightly. "Alright, Cutie, what's your name?" he asked, holding out his hand for me to take. I took his hand and he pulled me up to my feet.
"One: Don't call me that. Two: It's Hazel," I replied.
"Hm, I think I like Cutie better," he winked and I rolled my eyes. "But I'm Gold and the quiet one's Silver," I nodded. "Are you a trainer?" he asked and I suddenly remembered my pokemon.
"Team Rocket has them...The admins," I said but Gold looked confused. "My pokemon," I finished. He nodded and grinned.
"Don't you worry, we'll get them for you!" he said proudly, puffing out his chest.
"I'll come, too," I quickly added.
"What are we waiting for?" Gold shouted, running out the door. Silver followed closely behind and I ran after them.
"They said they had a secret weapon," I panted while running. "A Sea Guardian or something. I can't remember."
"There are plenty of Water type pokemon. Who knows which one?" he said as we searched through all the rooms frantically. They had to be in here. Somewhere.
"Well, well, well. Look who we have here?" Petrel taunted as Gold opened a door. Silver and I joined him immediately. "Oh! And it looks like our prisoner has escaped. Here to lose again?"
"Give me my pokemon," I ordered through gritted teeth.
"You win in battle, and we will," Ariana huffed, tossing a pokeball into the air.
~~~~~~
I collected my pokeballs once Team Rocket had fled and sent out my Sneasel, my most trusted companion.
"Blizzard!" I giggled excitedly. Her ears perked up at the familiar sound of her nickname.
"Snea!" she yelped, jumping into my arms. I laughed and hugged her back tightly.
"Thank you guys so much," I thanked my two new friends and Blizzard climbed onto my shoulder.
"No problem," Gold smirked, proud of his achievement. He nudged Silver with his elbow, but all that he said was,
"You lost to them? Pathetic." I puffed out my cheeks and tried to think of a smart ass comeback.
"Oh, so it does talk?"
"'It' has a name, ya know."
"Oh, really? What is it, Cutie?" I asked, mimicking Gold.
"We should have left you in that cell to die," the redhead grunted.
"And you would have, but Gold actually has emotions."
"You're a total ass! We could've just left you there if we wanted to!"
"Arceus, I liked you better when you were quiet!"
"Break it up, break it up!" Gold pushed us away from each other and glared at Silver playfully. "Silver, lay off my girl!"
I stomped on Gold's foot and he winced. Silver just rolled his eyes. I was guessing Gold was like this often...
"You're a feisty one," Gold winked and I somehow prevented myself from slapping him straight across the face. "Anyways, it's getting late. Hazel, you wanna get a room at the Pokemon Center with me and Silver?" I hesitated before replying.
"Are you sure it's all right?" I asked. Gold replied with 'Of course!' and Silver with a firm 'No.'
"Then I'd love to." I smiled innocently at Silver as Gold laughed and led us out of the building.
We headed towards the Pokemon Center, Gold leading the way, and soon arrived.
"One room, please," Gold said to Nurse Joy. She smiled at him and handed him the keys to room #28. We strolled down the hallways until we found our room and stepped inside. Silver and Gold claimed the two bottom beds and I threw my backpack on the bunk above Gold.
"I'm gonna go train," Silver and I chorused. He grunted and I rolled my eyes. Seriously?
"Never mind," I mumbled, and Gold smirked.
"Nope! You two can go train together!"
"You're funny." Silver said sarcastically.
"You two can battle each other! C'mon, guys, it'll be good practice."
"Fine." I said, walking out the door. Silver followed me without a reply.
"You should be easy to beat," he grinned slightly. "You lost to the Rocket admins after all."
"That was one on five," I informed him. "Did you expect me to win? I only have four pokemon. They sent out all of theirs." He shrugged.
"Still weak. One on five or one on one, it doesn't matter."
I smirked at his reply. I'm so much stronger than I look.
