Chapter 12: The Approaching Storm

It has been about a month and a half since our heroes faced off against the "Brother Bears". During their time off, our heroes have been using their time to train their skills. Team Lotus leader, Evelyn Mirack, has been training especially hard alongside Hinoko Yamazaki. Much stronger than she was a month and a half ago, Evelyn decides to participate in an upcoming tournament. Adamant about the idea, Hinoko, Ren and Mira decide to participate as well. Toshitsugu on the other hand, decides to support his fellow clan members from the sidelines

 "Ladies annnd gentlemen!! Today's opening battle will start with the lovely new member of Ethereon Town's, Clan Rushara!! Give it up for the 'rising red star', Evelyn Mirack!" The tournament crowd began roaring with cheer as Evelyn walked onto the large, 50ft tournament stage. Her outfit was a white turtle neck sweater that lied underneath a black vest. Her bottoms consisted of a black pleaded mini skirt and black OTK(over the knee) socks with white high-top sneakers.

"Isn't she just lovely!! And her opponent for today is...One of clan members from Cerise City's, 'Broken Rose'! This young man is known has Ichiro Kazuyuki, the 'Man handler'!" The crowd once again roared with cheers as a teenage male entered the tournament stage. He had a serious look upon his face. His hairstyle was a faded haircut. His eyes were a sterling gray. On his upper body was a black trench coat, that he had unbuttoned, revealing bandages wrapped around his abs. On his lower body were baggy black pants with creases in them, and black boots on his feet.

The male would crack his knuckles then ruthlessly slam his pound his fists together. His intentions were to startle Evelyn. He then clasped his hands together and slowly pulled them apart as a sword made of ice formed from in between them. Evelyn watched silently as the crowd cheered with excitement. The male held the sword in his right hand and gently placed the tip of it onto the ground, freeing the stage they stood on.

Evelyn looked down at the now, icy floor. She didn't lose her composure as she continued to look back up at her opponent. Her mind was solely on winning her match. Ichiro looked back at the girl and raised an eyebrow, seeing as how she was unmoved by his weapon.

"Hey, you don't look at all scared. Don't you know who I am? Or what I can do?"

"No, sorry but I don't. From the looks of it, you appear to be an 'Ice Elementalist' who can also wield a sword," Evelyn began. "When facing an unknown opponent, you have to observe them thoroughly in order to get a glimpse of what you're up against. If you fail to do so, you'll end up either dead or in a bad condition from your fight."

Ichiro then stared at Evelyn, secretly impressed by her way of thinking and strategy. But even so, he pointed his long sword towards her and smirked rather confidently. "That's some way of thinking you got there redhead. But not even that much will guarantee you a sure win. Allow me to educate you," He began, the icy ground underneath him beginning to crack. "I'm far different from many other 'Elementalist' because I and not one of the single 'Gifted'. I am what you would call a 'Double Package', meaning that my power exceeds far beyond any of the regular 'Single Gifts'. Being able to control two gifts takes skill and much training. Which is something that has made me who I am today. My sword here, is called the 'Artic Blade'. And with me being an 'Ice Elementalist' and also having great swordsmanship, the power this sword holds increases by 10. And here's a kick! The more I want to win a match, the more the 'Artic Blade's' power increases!"

Shortly following the male's explanation, Ichiro dashed towards Evelyn with his long sword skidding the icy ground. Getting within 10ft of the girl, Ichiro leaped into the air, holding his weapon over his head. "Artic Avalanche!! Blade's Rebellion!!" he yelled out as he brought the sword down with a mighty swing towards Evelyn.
