Chapter 8
I knew I was good at cheer and it looks like the team can use a little more help. I know my team in Texas was more advanced than this- I was interrupted when my phone started ringing
“Meet me halfway, right at the boarderline
That's where i'm gonna wait, for you
I'll be lookin out, night n'day
Took my heart to the limit, and this is where i'll stay
I can't go any further then this
I want you so bad it's my only wis-“
“Lay!!!!!!!” Emma screamed into the phone so loud that I had to move it away. “How was your fist day? Make captain? Have some interesting guys over you? Hot teachers? Hot guys?”
“Emma calm down and repeat everything you just said slower.” I said
“How was your first day?” she asked more calm
Laughing at her I answered “It was I think the best first day anyone can ask for.”
“Did you make captain?”
“Yeah, and know James has to-“ I cut myself off because I realized we never finished the bet.
“James what?” she asked confused.
“He called me fat and laughed in my face when I said I was going to try out for cheer captain. So we made a bet and we never finished it because he wouldn’t think I would of made captain.” I said glaring at him from the side of me seat.
“Oh shut up. You weren’t even that good.” He said glaring and smirking back at me.
“Eff you.” I said threw grinding teeth.
“Wow I see you to still aren’t getting along” Emma said.
“Nope and I don’t think we ever would be. Oh yeah Lily James’ mom wanted me to ask you if you wanted to be my maid of honor?”
“Do you even have to ask? HELL YEAH!!!!”
“Can we not talk about the stupid wedding? I don’t want to get married to you.” James intruded
“Yeah and I don’t want to get married to you either.”
“Yeah like right I bet you want a piece of me.”
“Not even in you dream-“
“Umm Layla remember what your mom used to say?” Emma interrupted while laughing
“Umm no? What does that have to do with any of this?” I asked confused. My mom used to say a lot if things so I’m not really sure what she’s trying to say.
“She used to say ‘you always end up with the person you fight with the most because opposites attract.’” She said slightly out of breath with all the laughing she’s been doing.
“Uhhh she only said that because she knew I couldn’t stand Jorge.”
“Still, your mom is always right so don’t doubt it.”
“Eff you. I gotta go we just got home and Lily said she wanted to talk to me.”
“Okay bye my love.” She said
