"Daddy daddy pick me up wike an airplane!" Emmi exclaims. "Ok Em." Sasha says picking her up and placing her on his shoulders. Emmi puts her arms out as the airplane wings and Sasha runs around the living room. "Brrrrrrrrrrr!" Sasha says imitating the sound of an airplane. Emmi is in a full on giggle fit. "Daddy go faster!" She laughs. "Not today munchkin. We don't want Mama to get mad." He said putting her back down.
"Anyways somebody needs a bath." I said. "It's not me." Emmi says thinking it will get her out of taking her bath. She absolutely hates taking baths but we went hiking earlier so she really needs to take one. "Yes it is Emmi now lets go. The faster you take it the faster it will be over." Sasha says. Emmi just groans and follows us upstairs. "Go pick the PJs you want then come back into the bathroom." I explain to her. She nods her head and runs to her room. About a minute later she runs back into the bathroom holding whale pajamas and her teddy bear Joey. "Hey Emmi how about you take Joey back into your room." I said knowing if she got him wet she would have a meltdown. "But Mommy, Joey wants to stay." She said. "But you wouldn't want Joey to get wet because then he can't sleep with you tonight. He'll have to go in the dryer." I explain. She just sighs and takes Joey back to her room.
I let her play for awhile making bath time a little more enjoyable. "Okay bug it's time to wash up." I said getting wash cloth and putting some soap on it. I washed her body before washing her hair. When I was done I picked her up and wrapped her in a towel. I cleaned up her toys and drained the tub. When I turned around there was no Emmi to be found but her towel was on the floor. Her pajamas were still on the counter as well.
"Emmi?" I said walking out of the bathroom holding her pajamas. "She's in our room!" I hear Sasha yell. I walk to our room and sure enough there's bare butt Emmi and Sasha jumping on the bed. "I swear I have two kids." I say under my breath. "What was that Emma?" Sasha asks. "Oh I was saying how I basically have two kids. Emmi get down you have to get dressed. Oh and Sasha you get down too." I say. I quickly help Emmi put on her pajamas before carrying her to her room. "Ok Em pick two books you want to us to read for story time." Emmi runs over to her bookshelf and chooses 'A Very Hungry Caterpillar' and 'The Giving Tree'. Sasha, Emmi and I all sit down on her bed and get comfy. Sasha and I take turns reading every other page. Once we finished story time I turned on Emmi's nightlight and gave her a hug and a kiss.
"Love ya munchkin." I say.
"I love you, sweet dreams Em." Sasha says kissing Emmi's forehead.
"Goodnight Mommy. Goodnight Daddy. I love you."
