Hockey has our Heats chapter 24

Alyshia’s POV

The morning after Jonathans birthday we were woken up by pounding at his bedroom door.

“DUDE IT’S NOT YOUR BIRTHDAY ANYMORE SO YOU BETTER HAVE CLOTHES ON BECAUSE I AM COMING IN”

“hold on like two seconds.” Jonathan said while throwing me is dress shirt that was laying by him.

“Nevermind just hurry up because we gotta be at the arena in the less than an hour.” With that Patrick left.

“Hey I am sorry but I gotta go it’s only for about an hour or so it’s just for the press.” Jonathan said to me.

“Its fine I really should get home anyway.”

After that I got dressed and went to my apartment. When I got there Aira was in a good mood and it was kind of weird considering she’s been mad for about 3 day.

“Hey, you are in a good mood.”

“Yeah Patrick and I made up last night.”

“Really oh my gosh congratulations.”

“Thanks.”

After that we got ready because we had to go to some dinner thing for the team. We were seated and about an hour later coach Q was giving a speech. After that we ate and it was so nice being with the team and other wives/girlfriends. After we finished eating Jonathan made a speech and then so did Patrick which I wasn’t really paying any attention to until he told Aira to come up on the stage thingy. The next thing I know Patrick is down on one knee asking Aira to marry him. She looked a little lost so I thought I would help out.

“SAY YES!”

She said yes and then everyone was clapping and congratulating them. After that the dinner was pretty much over. So we all left to get ready for play offs.

Today was the day that Aira and I were graduating. We were so excited. The guys well not as excited as I was hoping but I understand considering Wednesday night they lost and were out of the playoffs. We were sitting there waiting for them call our names so we could come get out diplomas. When Aira got hers we could hear her parents, her siblings, and Patrick yelling. I couldn’t wait for my turn. I had my mom, dad, step mom, sister and Jonathan. My brother couldn’t make it because he had a thing with Jess he just couldn’t get out of, yeah whatever.

“Alyshia K Meyers” the dean called

I walked across the stage got my diploma and shook the deans hand. After we were all done we went to find our families which of course were talking to each other. When we reached them we got hugs all around. We finally made it back to our place so we could celebrate with everyone.

We moved out of the apartment and got a duplex just right outside of the city. Aira and Patrick moved in together next door because they didn’t want to be far so that way when the baby comes we can be right next door to help out. We didn’t have to worry about the money or anything like that because Aira had a family friend that owned this place. Then she had a kid and didn’t want to raise them in the city and the people on the other side that she was renting it out to were old and wanted to go back home and spend time with their family so when Aira’s friend found out that she was having a baby she offered her place. Which worked for us and because it was already payed of we didn’t have too pay anything.

It was about June now and Jonathan and I were going to spend June and July up in Canada with his friends and family. And I think Aira was going with Patrick to New York. It would be weird not seeing them for 2 months.

*** the airport***

We had an early flight to get to Winnipeg, so we had been up since 3. Once we got on the plane it was a smooth ride. We touched down in Winnipeg at 6 in the morning, his mom was there to pick us up. We were staying with her for a couple weeks and then we were going to his dads. The summer was going to fly by I could feel it. We always had fun when we were with his parents, and when we got back to Chicago we would go see my family for a weeks or so.  This summer would be packed and on top of all the family stuff I had to help Aira plan a wedding. This will be one interesting summer.
