Author's Note:  If you like this book, I suggest you read my other book, Legend of Dracon.  I have only just started it, but I think that it will become a good book, too.  I will update my two stories alternating - one chapter for ADO, one chapter for Dracon, etc.  Thanks to all those who read Legend of Dracon, and this story, as well.

Chapter 13

Reunited

When Nadran saw Aledro, who he had thought to be dead, about to be killed by a monster, he had leapt off of the cliff before the scene below had even finished processing in his mind.  He was vaguely aware of the activation of his Lord of Darkness skill set, but did not pay much attention, as his attention was focused solely on Aledro and the Mantis now leaping toward him.  He somehow managed to collide with the creature after a fifty-foot drop, dealing some damage and saving Aledro.  He drove the boss about three inches into the ground, landing on top of it, and, immediately drawing his swords, hacked wildly at it, trying to destroy it before it could attack Aledro.  Nadran only got in a couple of hits, though, before it sprang to its feet, leaping out of range of his swords.  Nadran rushed forward, pressing the offensive.  The Mantis Prince was a very formidable opponent, but Nadran’s activated skill set along with his resolve to protect Aledro allowed him to break through the monster’s guard time and time again.  After less than twenty seconds, Nadran depleted the last of its health, and the Mantis Prince, level 8 boss, collapsed onto the ground, defeated.

With the threat destroyed, Nadran was able to relax and turn to face Aledro.  He quickly walked over, kneeling down and examining him to see the extent of his injuries.  It was worse than Nadran had originally thought.  Aledro seemed incapable of movement, and his health bar read [HP: 9/975].  At this point, a level 1 slime could kill him in one hit!  At this point, he noticed the level up notices in front of both of them.  Aledro, being a couple levels lower than Nadran, had two level up notifications from helping kill the boss.  Nadran had one.  He quickly tapped OK on the notification, reaching level 9.  Nadran then remembered that if you leveled up when you are not in the middle of a battle, your health is completely restored.  Aledro really needed that right now, but didn’t have enough energy to move his hand and accept the level ups.  Nadran quickly thought of a solution, and grabbed Aledro's hand, picking it up and pressing Aledro's finger against the [ACCEPT] button.

Aledro remained still for a moment, then sat up, groaning.  "Thanks," he said as he stretched out his muscles.  "That's a wierd feeling.  Being seriously injured, then those injuries dissapearing in less than ten seconds."  Aledro abruptly went from thoughtful to energetic, leaping to his feet and hugging Nadran.  "I'm so glad I was able to find you!  Or, more, you found me!  Thanks for saving me!"

Nadran, still in the process of understanding that Aledro was alive and well, surprised by the random hug, and slightly overwhelmed by the barrage of exclamations from Aledro, stood still, paralyzed by confusion, happiness, and surprise.  Finally, he managed to get his mouth to work properly again.  "But... how... how are you still alive?  I saw you die!  How can you be standing right in front of me after that?"

Aledro's eyes twinkled with mischief and he jumped back, dramatically raising his arms.  "Oh, you thought you saw me die, but no, I fell into a hole, and someone else died, not me!  I woke up after the battle, and made my way out to find you!  I traveled far and wide, and finally I found you!"

Nadran, slightly amused by Aledro's theatrics, said "I'm glad to see you alive and well too.  But... uh... how could you have searched far and wide in the last two days?  I think that this world would take a bit longer than two days to search."

Aledro paused before replying "Well, maybe I extaggerated, but I still looked nonstop for you!"

"Okay," Nadran replied.  "Oh, and one other thing?"
