Cody grabbed at the sink as the ground shook violently. Jake crashed to the floor but bit his lip so he wouldn’t cry out. Cody looked over and cursed in his head. Skylar was standing in front of the door, blocking anyone’s escape. He grabbed Jake’s arm and desperately pulled him into a stall. The grabbed the sides of the stall and stood on the toilet. The earthquake silenced.

He heard light footsteps. Someone was checking the stalls. They were hidden in the second to last stall.

Cody prayed for a miracle as the footsteps got closer. If Sky and D found them, it’s be bad news. If only they got distracted by something!

He heard a loud thud on the other side of the bathroom and Sky’s voice sounded from near the stall. “D, what happened?” He didn’t sound concerned.

His feet were moving over there and Jake and Cody snuck out quietly. Cody looked over at where the two were. D was on the ground rubbing his head painfully.

They hurried over to the parents, who were talking calmly. “Did you guys feel that?” Cody gasped. “Feel what?” his mom asked. “The earthquake!” Jake cried.

Peter laughed. “Kids, there are a lot of dragons here. Probably just showing off their skills. You can contain your abilities to a certain area; however, it takes a ton of energy.”

Cody’s mom suddenly turned to him with a lecture in her eyes. “You got in a fight with Eli. His mother called me and said he got in a fight and keeps having nightmares.” Cody looked into Claire’s eyes and frowned. “He was talking bad about my friends!” Jake nodded in agreement.

“That doesn’t mean you get in a fight!”

“Who, that loser kid?”Tylerhad his hands in his pockets. “Eli isn’t a loser. Mom, this isTyler. He’s 10.”Tylergrinned at Claire. “Hello ma’am,” he said. She smiled kindly at him. “Stop trying to change the subject Cody. If you were home I would ground you for quite a while.” Cody sighed.

Eve and her mother walked over. Her mother had a nice smile on her face. “Peter how long has it been?” Peter laughed and shook the woman’s hand. “Too long Naomi. I haven’t seen you since last year!” Karen and Naomi hugged. “How have you guys been?” Karen smiled too. “Fine. And you?” “Great!”

Naomi and Claire shook hands and introduced each other. “I’m Naomi. I’m Eve, Tyler, and D’s mother.” “Quit calling yourself my mother you old hag.” No one had seen D and Sky coming over. D looked extremely mad. There was a gash bleeding on the side of D’s head.

Naomi gasped. “What happened to your head?” she cried. “None of your business.” His voice towards his own mother was ice cold.

“D,” Eve said quietly. He turned on her. “No, I’m sick of this. She’s not part of my life.” Naomi sighed and reached her hand out. D glared furiously. “Don’t touch me!” he cried.
