Your P.O.V
Mark and I had talked literally for hours at the bar. He had helped me forget about Emmett for a little bit, and for that, I was very thankful. It was nice to be able to say whatever I wanted and not be interrupted. He made me feel wanted, he made me feel like a... a person. It felt nice... But just like everything else in my life, everything nice eventually goes away. I had to leave, otherwise, I would have never gone home.
"Annnnnnd Immmm done!" I chimed as I shut my laptop closed.
Instead of going back to school at (y/l), I'm doing the assignments online. So I guess technically I'm doing online college. I honestly don't care, just as long as I have the right amount of schooling for becoming a (y/d/j). (A.N- Comment what you want to be :P)
I eventually made it back home to my mom's house. Dad, however, as soon as I turned eighteen he divorced my mom. Turns out, he's gay, so we can't really hate him for it. He and my mom are still very close though, best friends practically.
"Mom?!" I called out.
I was in my childhood room, (p/c) walls, (p/c) carpet. Nothing has changed in the two years I've been gone. Everything was exactly the same as if I had never left.
I pushed myself away from my computer desk and made my way out of my room to the kitchen. "Mom? Are you in here?"
"Nope, no sign of momma bear." I thought.
Maybe she's outside? I looked through a kitchen window, and sure thing, there she was outside tanning. I chuckled as I walked through a sliding glass door that led to the backyard. "Having fun there?" I asked as I walked towards her.
"Oh yes, indeed I am." She replied, eyes still closed.
My very beautiful mother was wearing her favorite bikini out in the fenced yard, on a beach towel. Not going to lie, it was very sunny outside and if it weren't for the fact that I didn't have a bathing suit, I would've joined my mother. But sadly, I don't, and I have a lot more essays that are crying out to be written.
"Mooom, I need a break," I whined as I dropped down to the floor, sitting criss-cross applesauce.
This caused my mother to glance towards me, revealing her (e/c) eyes. She let out a chuckle, as she sat up from where she laid. Turning to me as quickly as she could, she asked, "Do you remember Shane? Shane Dawson?"
"Shane Dawson?"
"Umm... Yeah... Why?" I hesitated.
As soon as I said yes, a happy smile shined onto my mothers face. But as if a light bulb had just been turned on in her head, her smile morphed into a mischievous one. Smirking now, she stood up, grabbing the towel with her, and said, "Oh... nevermind..."
My jaw dropped, "What?"
"Mom?" I confusingly asked as I followed her into the kitchen.
She held a smirk on her face as I stared at her. A smug look sat on her face. Why would she have that look? What does she know?
"Mom? What do you know?"
"Oh... Nothing..." She chirped.
"Mom," I begged.
She let out a giggle as she pulled out a container of pink lemonade from the refrigerator, and began to pour two glasses. "I'll make a deal...." She continues.
"I'll tell you what I know if you tell me about this Mark character." She teased.
"Of course she does..." I giggled.
"What do you want to know?"
"Baby...." She pulled back.
"I want to know everything!" My mother squealed with delight, jumping into the air almost knocking the glasses of lemonade over.
"Well... What can I say?" I held in my laughter from my mom's unexpected jolt of excitement.
"He was smart, very smart... When he talked, he held importance and... and calmness in his tone, and whenever I talked, all of his attention was on me. He was charismatic too! It was as if he had a gravitational pull to him, and I was being pulled towards him in acceptance. Not to mention, as soon as I saw him, I fell in love with his eyes... His beautiful, chocolate flavored eyes... They seemed to have so many stories to tell..." I fell silent, sinking into my own world.
"He was very cute too... Puppy dog cute." I pictured him in my head.
His cute, wavy hair... his nice eyes, and adorable peach fuzz. Just thinking about him made my cheeks turn pink. He was really sweet... I wonder if I'll ever see him again...
"Who knows." I sighed.
"Sadly though... I didn't get his phone number." I said.
