(Y/n) POV-
I stared up at the ceiling, and let out a deep sigh. I have been in this room for hours now, doing nothing. I guess Anti had left or something because I haven't heard him make a sound from the living room in a while. I guess you can say that I was bored, and well... hungry. Also, I still have no idea if Anti had turned off the stove but since the house hasn't burned down yet, I think he did.
Getting on my feet, I walked to the door and peered out of it. I didn't see anything or anyone in the living room, but I still walked cautiously through the hallway. I didn't hear anything, and I definitely didn't hear Anti cussing. Does that mean that I'm here alone?
"Hello?" I called out.
No response.
Looking over the corner, I see that my suspicions were right. No one else was here, and I was alone. I released a breath that I didn't know I was holding and walked to the kitchen. The stove was indeed off, and I relaxed a bit more knowing that. Opening the fridge, I saw that it was packed full of sweets and alcohol.
"Hmmm..."
Mark or Dark don't seem to be the type to enjoy sweets or alcohol on a daily basis, this must be Anti's doing. Running a hand in my hair, I grabbed a bag of sour patch kids and walked to the large bookshelf in the living room. I admired the many books, and I wondered who they belonged too. It cant be Anti, so it's either Mark or Dark.
I popped a few sour patch kids in my mouth, and pulled a book off of the shelf and walked to the couch. "The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde." The title rested on the cover boldly, and the book seemed to have been used a lot.
I remember one of my professors, Miss Jackson, had read this book and had said that it was really good. She had said that it was about a guy being cursed. It looked like a small read, maybe a hundred pages long? I didn't have anything else to do, so why not read?
I opened to the first page, and as soon as my eyes laid on the first word, I couldn't stop reading. The words persuaded me, and each page seemed to pull me further into the story. It's an incredible feeling, and as I read now, I silently cursed myself for stopping when I left for college. I guess you can say that I was very busy during school, and I never really had free time to read what I wanted to read.
It didn't take me very long to finish reading, and when I did, a wave of emotions overcame me. Poor, poor Dorian Gray...
Well... not poor Dorian, he basically broke a girls heart because she wouldn't act anymore. Also, he pledged his soul to a painting of himself so he could stay young and beautiful forever. The girl then kills herself, and then 18 years pass by, and the painting of Dorian aged while the real Dorian hadn't. Then he gets mad at the painting and tries to stab it but when he stabbed the painting, he stabbed himself and turned into an old man.
It was an epic short read, but I can't help but think he had it coming. I mean, who would pledge their soul to stay young forever? Nevermind, don't answer that... Emmett and a lot of other people would do that...
AN- Before you ask, "Why did I read this? Dark, Mark, or Anti didn't even appear in this chap..." Just know that this will come in handy for the future. ;)
