Stella here! like this or perish! I'm not kidding around either, I don't joke. . . . . .

I didn't want to trust Artemis, but it was the only way out of this. Birch jumped and fell. I didn't see her and I thought that she had hit the water and was gone for good, when I saw her and someone whizz past me. Thank goodness she was alive. I looked at Artemis. I was terrified of heights.

"Who was that?" I yelled. He just smiled softly. I didn't know what to do. I wasn't going to jump! I was scared out of my mind. I squeezed my eyes shut and hung onto my necklace. I took deep breaths to slow my pounding heart. I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"I need you to trust me. My friend has Birch sitting in a boat right now. If you jump, she will catch you. Please, trust me, I'm a genius." I looked into his eyes and saw the truth. I looked at the water and made my decision. I propelled myself away from the side of the plane and closed my eyes. I felt myself stop falling. I kept my eyes closed until I felt the soft rubber of a raft beneath me.

I opened my eyes and saw Birch sitting across from me. I let out a relived breath and smiled.

"Well hi there." I said. Birch chuckled and looked behind me. I turned and saw Artemis and the strange woman with wings. She set him down and grabbed the side of the raft. She pulled the raft towards the plane. She got about ten feet away and disappeared. Just like that, she was gone. Butler jumped into the water and swam to us. He climbed into the raft, dripping wet.

The boat started moving again, meaning the woman was still there. I wanted to know who she was, so I indented to ask. Right as I opened my mouth to speak, Artemis held his finger to his lips, telling me to be silent. I closed my mouth and looked at Birch. She just shrugged. We were far from the plane when she reappeared. She was an elf, that much was clear.

She had short auburn hair and sharp facial fetchers. She must be the person from the library. Artemis had told Butler that she was an old friend, meaning she wouldn't kill us. That was good. I wanted to ask who she was, but I didn't want to be the one to break the silence. I looked passed her and saw a boat. It wasn't that big, just a fishing boat, but it could hold all of us.

She pulled us along side it and tied the raft to the side. Butler got off first and helped Artemis and us up. Once we were out, she untied the raft and deflated it. She folded it and put it in a little cupboard. She then went to the controls and started to drive. It was still silent, until she said something.

"Artemis, you owe me for this. I had to take a day off work to do this for you." She told him. Artemis smirked and nodded.

"When was the last time you took a sick day, Holly? You always work and you needed a break anyway." He said. She smiled and shook her head.

"If I miss anything good, you're gonna pay me back." She laughed. So, her name was Holly. I stared at her, hoping to get another memory, just my luck, I did. I gasped as it sparked in my mind.

Birch and I where sitting at work. We made weapons for the LEP. I sighed and stood, going to take my lunch break. Birch followed.

"Hey, Birch, you want to go out and get something to eat? I'm starving." I told her. She nodded. As we walked out the door, someone came into the office. She had short, auburn hair ans sharp fetchers.

"Can I help you?" I asked, looking at her uniform. She nodded.

"I'm here to pick up something for the LEPrecon." She told me. I sighed.

"I know that. But who is it for and why did they send you?" Birch asked.

"Um, Foaly sent me. He had a lot of work to do." I nodded. People came in here for Foaly all the time.

"What section did you come from?" I asked, going to the computer.

"Eight. The name is Holly Short." Holly said. I typed it in the computer and it dinged, telling me she was right on time. Birch went into the back to grab her things. When she came out, she was carrying two boxes of stuff.

"Here you go. Careful with this stuff, it's breakable. I need you to sigh something before you go. It just says that we handed this to you and that we are not reliable if anything breaks in your care." Birch told her. She nodded and sighed the papers. With that, she left.

I rubbed my eyes and looked around. Everyone was looking at me. I shrank in my seat, not liking the attention.

     "So?" asked Artemis.

"We've met." I told him, looking at Holly. She looked to Artemis.

"What was her name?" She asked him.

"She was Stella Soot. Syd was Birch Light." He said. She looked confused.

"How did we meet?" She asked me. I explained my memory and she nodded. "I remember that. Not much of a memory, but now you know what your job was. That's good." I sighed.

"Yeah, well the only other time I saw you was when you were on TV. I remember all of that. Are you as crazy as the tabloids made you seem?" I asked. She chuckled and shook her head.

"I remember when they thought that I killed Root. That's why I left. I can't work somewhere when people think I killed someone who was like a father to me. Section 8 is much better, and Foaly will back me up on that." She said. I could vaguely remember something about Root. He was all over TV.

"Oh! Birch, tell them about the dream with the man with the large head and helmet." I said. Birch sighed and nodded. When she finished, it was silent until Artemis spoke up.

"Well, that was interesting. When you woke up, did you feel any pain? Like Stella?" He asked. Before she could answer, the water in front of us exploded.
