Chapter Seven

"Okay class good luck! And let’s have no injuries today please!" Miss Kifa our cooking teacher explains to us probably not wanting to do extra paper work.

"Like that's going to happen!" I think to myself while mentally laughing. I swear every cooking lesson someone has an injury. It's either Miss Kifa's fault for not teaching us properly or the incompetence of some of my classmates. Me? I'm an excellent cook! Whenever I had free time my mum would teach me how to cook since some nights she would either come home late or not come at all.

After Miss makes sure every ones cooking okay (well if you can call it cooking) and no fires have started yet, she goes back to her seat at the front of the class and goes onto her phone. Fixing her straight black hair every once and a while and probably texting her boyfriend. Usually after explaining whatever needs to be done in cooking class Miss just goes straight to her phone. It doesn't help that she is like 20 or something. She is more concentrated at her fashion sense then cooking. I still wonder what made her decide to be a cooking teacher.

I sigh while turning back to my cooking bench and start to put my white apron on.

"You ready?" Mel my cooking partner and one of my friends asks while plaiting her long brown hair. Her hazel eyes slightly bored since we are cooking an easy dish today. Mel loves cooking hard dishes probably because she loves the satisfaction of cooking a dish most of our classmates don't even know about.

"Yep!" I respond finishing tying my apron and quickly tying back my long violet hair back into a high ponytail.

After finishing getting ready I take a knife ready to start cutting a vegetable with Mel doing the same. I was about to start a conversation with her but something 'unthinkable' (note the sarcasm) happens already.

I smell it before I hear the shout of pain.

"Ow!" A girl from the group behind us shouted.

I look to find one of my friends cut herself with the knife she had been using.

"Zara careful!" Her partner shouts quickly getting a wet towel to help stop the bleeding. (Let me add that Zara sucks at cooking, let alone using a knife)

"It-it wasn't my fault! The-the knife just slipped out of my hand!" Zara responds letting her partner do all the work.

Miss sighs before putting her phone on the table and getting up. Getting annoyed that she has to go and help.

I shake my head turning back to my cutting hoping the drama would end soon but the smell of blood is now stronger. Hoping that it starts to fade away I continue cutting, but before I know it my vision starts to go blurry. I put the knife down and put one of my hands to my head. "Ah why am I feeling sick and faint right now!"

"Yuki?" Mel asks worriedly as she stops cutting and looks at me, suspecting that something is wrong.

I was going to say I'm fine but my legs start to give way and I start to fall to the ground.

"Yuki!" A different voice shouts but I'm too out of it to figure out who it belongs to.

I fall to the ground expecting a hard landing but receive a soft one instead. I figure that someone caught me but before I can think anymore into that matter I am engulfed into the darkness...

* * *

I open up my eye lids slowly still a little sleepy.

"Wha-what happened?" I think to myself waiting a little to let my eyes focus.

Once they do I look around to find that I am in the nurse's office.

"What! Did someone carry me here?" I think to myself trying to recall what happened only moments ago.
