Tyler's POV

"So, tell me more about yourself," I said abruptly, killing the silence. I felt as if I had said too much and now he was either judging or pitying me. It wasn't like me to be so intrigued or anything, but Troye surely did seem interesting, i'd give him that.

"I was born in South Africa, is that anything interesting?" He asked, as if he could read my mind.

"Yeah, that actually is really interesting, what part of South Africa?" I asked back.

"Johannesburg, although I moved to Perth, Australia when I was only two, and moved here in New York for high school when my oldest brother decided to go to college here at NYU. It's nice to have a change of scenery every once in a while." He said, captivating me.

"No way.. You're from Austrailia? I've always wanted to go there, that place seems amazing."

"It truly is, you'd love it there, the sunset's much longer where I'm from." he said.

"I'm sure I would love that." I smiled.

We've been talking for such a long time, and I've found out so much about Troye. Like how his favourite food is Mac and cheese because it reminds him of his home or how Nutella was a close runner up. I don't know why we were having all this food talk, but it was making me hungry in the slightest bit.

"Well, I have two brothers and one sister. You?" He replied to my question on family. His legs were dangling from the swing although he could touch the ground, so he was basically kicking up dirt.

"I have a sister on my dad's side that I've never met. I guess it's okay because I'm not really good with kids anyway." I chuckled, trying to ease the tension I had made with my drinking rant earlier. What was I even thinking?

"My mum says I am a kid, seriously, I can't even make food without something going wrong." Troye reminisced, and started laughing. Oh, joy, back at it again with the food talk.

He doubled over in laughter after continuing, " once, I put cereal on the stove, and drank it for lunch. I'm pretty healthy." He said, earning a giggle from me. I didn't know if he was really tired or just blatantly lazy but either way, that seems like Troye.

Then, Troye seemed to be lost in thought. "Earth to Troye..? You okay?" I asked, waving my hand pretending as if I were waving at an alien.

"Your sister.." He trailed off.

I tensed.

"On the second day of school, you said your sister kicked a soccer ball to your face, but you've never even met her.." He said, trying to piece things together. I gulped before he continued. "Why did you lie?"

Well, shit. I was completely busted now. I contemplated the best situation was to dodge the question entirely. "I thought you were ignoring me around then." I said, instantly regretting it, seeing the taken aback look on his face.

"And who told you that?" he scoffed.

"I didn't need anyone to tell me when you already made it pretty clear." I fired back.

"And what exactly 'made it so clear'?" Troye mimicked me.

"'Oh, it's you.' Does that ring a bell? Does ignoring me for legitimate two weeks without reason say anything?" I retorted.

"Who's to say I didn't have a reason?" He asked.

Now I was the one who was taken aback. "W-what?" My voice cracked and I suddenly felt my throat dry and my heart sink. Yet another person hates me. Tears were selling in my eyes but I ignored them, not about to cry over this.

Who could love a wreck like me?

"Yeah, I know what you did last year. How could you be so fucking insensitive? Why the hell would you do something like that? Who in their right mind would hurt someone innocent and falsely claim it was for self defence? This kid didn't even DO ANYTHING to you yet you beat him up, why the hell is that? Huh? Does that give any reason? Hm?" He ranted.

Suddenly my hurt turned into utter confusion. "Wait, what? Where did you even hear this?" I asked, dumbfounded.

"The school website, it has archives of everything every student at ridgewood did, it basically knows everything about you, I saw the "similar to me" portion holding kids that have the same class as me and I saw you and Cameron. I had no clue who you were so I decided to check yours out and now I'm regretting it completely." He spat.

"What did mine say?" I asked once more.

"As if you don't fucking know! It says you got into a drunken fist fight with some guy for 'harassing you'. " he replied, still having that mean glare in his eyes.

"I know I'm asking so many questions and I'm sorry.. But what did Cameron's say?" I apologised, not wanting to add on.

"That he 'repeatedly called someone a 'fag' and beat them up' or something along the lines of that." He said, presumably wondering where I was getting at with this.

"Troye..." I braced myself, my heart racing as I was about to admit this.

"What, what Tyler?"

"That 'fag', that he beat up, it was me."

Heyhey, two chapters in one day, you lucky children. I like to think of this as a filler chapter but at the same time it's really not because it's actually one of the main turning points in the story and things start to really change from here I promise. Now this is gonna be really confusing, these next few chapters, but you're just as confused as Troye is, so next chapter is going to be written in Troyes POV so hopefully you can understand this weird plot twist here, trust me, it is way way different from what you're expecting. Thank you all for reading and supporting I love you all thank youuuuuu
