And she’s alive!

Got some good news, and bad news for ya’ll. The good news is that this is not the last chapter, I already got… a total of 30 chapters written! And none of those were written in the past week. Bad news is that Thursday I had a fever, so rather than type up these chapters like I planned, I was lying on my couch snoring away my third and fourth classes.

So, here’s chapter 17, hope you enjoy!

Leo stepped off the plane, gripping the strap of his satchel. Festus was undergoing an upgrade so he can change from his dragon form to the Argo at the current moment, so he couldn’t of taken him.

He pulled out his phone and turned it back on, heading towards the set of chairs next to the terminal.

Three messages. One from his wife, two from Percy.

His wife and two children couldn’t make the flight he just got off of, so they took one that departed a good hour ago.

Percy’s first call was about how they had changed positions and to call when he landed. The second was far more shocking.

Camp Half Blood went off to San Francisco the night before. When they landed, the Romans had been waiting for them. They need him to look for any refugees still in the airport.

Leo sighed, texted Percy to notify him he landed, then began to recite weapons in Ancient Greek and Latin that he made in his forges as a teenager. With some difficulty, much to his irritation, though.

Oceana was getting scared. The airport police were beginning to figure out they weren’t waiting on a plane, and she figured if they didn’t leave soon, they’ll be arrested.

“When are we gonna go?” Kyle asked his sister Cassandra, returning from getting a drink at a nearby water fountain.

“Get your stuff together, we’re going in an hour,” Noah answered, heading out to fill his water bottle.

Annika tugged on Oceana’s sleeve. She pointed towards a Latino man gripping a satchel. He was talking to himself, or though one of those hand-free cellular devices they just came out with in Festus Incorporated. (A/N this is SO a tenth doctor reference! Didn’t even realize I had it in there until I began typing it up!)

“It’s Leo Valdez!” Annika whispered excitedly, her gold eyes glistening.

Cassandra got out of her chair and walked over to the man Annika was pointing towards. They had a brief exchange before Cassandra lead him to their group of four, Noah still filling up his water bottle.

“How do you know him?” Oceana asked, leaning against Annika as she whispered.

“We speak in my dreams.” The way Annika stated that was creepy, Oceana thought. She would never understand why they spoke in Annika’s dreams, for it was a secret the two shall take to their graves.

“Uhh…”

Leo had his hands casually in his jean pockets. He shifted awkwardly on his feet, looking at each of the kids, Noah having returned with a semi-full water bottle.

“So, is it true that Camp’s been captured?” Leo asked, looking down at his feet.

“Yeah,” Kyle answered, looking upset about it. They were all upset by the kidnapping.

“You lookin’ for Percy and Annabeth Jackson?”

“Yes!” Annika yelled excitedly.

“Common, they’re coming to pick me up in ten.”

Kaysen sat on the bus’s back seat.

They were parked outside for a good twenty minutes for Leo Valdez and his family to come out.

Someone stepped on the bus, and it suddenly got quiet. Percy got up from his seat and walked towards the girl.

A blonde waterfall was hidden behind her hat. She stared at all the Egyptians in the front, their hand on the hilts of their curved swords, awaiting the moment her face and their blades may greet each other.

“It’s okay!” Percy said, holding his hands up. “I know her!”

“We should check if they have any weapons,” someone ahead of Kaysen grumbled.

“of course they have weapons! They’re attacked more than us,” Eon said in reply.

Oceana and six others filled in behind her.

Kaysen’s face lit up with excitement as she recognized each in turn. Chance, Cassandra, Annika on Cassandra’s back, Noah, Leo, and Kyle.

Everyone took a seat, Kyle just across the aisle from Kaysen and Eon’s seats. They looked at each other and squealed with delight.

“So, what was that about war?” Oceana asked, popping her head up from over the seat she shared with Devraj and Nakia.

I’ll try to get one in tomorrow. No promises!
