Buses

Stepping into the bus with the mass of children, Kyle watched the Romans beginning to walk towards the buses. The Doctor was hidden in one of the overhead compartments in the bus he's in charge of, and Kaysen as well as himself were just going to sit among the masses.

"Good morning kiddos!" A cheery young man asked as he stepped into the bus. "I'm Josh and I'm going to be your bus driver today!"

Jet black hair and a gray jacket, Josh looked like he took the title of the book Fifty Shades of Gray a little too seriously. And he most likely had a different idea for the "chains and whips" than the book had intended.

Kyle looked back to check out the bus behind him. Nervousness filled him as he examined Josh coldly while the younger kids replied merrily with a hello.

A quick scan showed no Aphrodite kids beyond himself. Maybe Josh was his Roman brother and was charmspeaking the rest of the bus into following him blindly to their own doom? Kyle's nervousness grew in fear that Josh may convince his own friends to fight against him if he tried to stop him.

A bump in his jacket. Hiding a weapon, no doubt. Either a short sword or a dagger. Either way, he was ready incase someone tried to fight him. And to send other demigods to the front line, too.

"Alright, everyone! Buckle up and I'll take you to your hotel!"

Clicking filled the bus. Josh, examining everyone's buckles out of "safety purposes," was walking his way back, deeper into the bus. Quickly buckling, Kyle knew it was a good thing right then that he had taken the sonic from Kaysen.

"Alright, let's get on our way!"

The bus jostled forward. Kyle looked at the little Hermes boy sitting next to him, his blond curls a mess on top his sleepy little head.

Cassandra and the other members of the war council had examined a map of the city to see where they would be landing and staying and the route they should take and all that boring stuff. Kyle, as usual, wasn't there but was told in immense detail the route because Oceana had nothing better to do. Or, at least, that was her excuse.

Well, the point is, Kyle thought as though he was explaining it to someone. We're going the wrong way.

Taking the sonic screwdriver out of his back pocket, he mindlessly thumbed the the green button. He held the belt buckle and pressed it, the light facing the buckle. After a strange buzzing sound, he was able to undo the buckle as people began to realize they can't get out. Josh was calming everyone down by telling them that it will unbuckle when they reach their hotel. By hotel, Kyle assumed "dungeon."

"Kyle, what's going on?" Asked an Apollo kid, Jake, leaning across the aisle to him.

"Oh, umm... Nothing, just getting kidnapped by the Romans."

Jake looked at him alarmed. "Getting kidnapped?" He whispered back so that none of the younger kids would get more frightened than they already are. Jake was one of those strange people that could naturally see through the Mist even though he's a demigod. And, people that can see through the Mist can also hear charmspeak as nothing beyond words, similar to a charmspeaker.

"Listen, I need your help. I'm going to take over the bus from Josh, and I need you to keep him busy."

"Oh...Kay?"

Kyle pointed the sonic screwdriver at Jake's buckle and turned it on, unlocking his buckle. He then handed it to him and relayed the same instructions to him that Kaysen gave him less than a half hour before.

Both got up and began to walk down the aisle to reach the driver. From the rear view mirror, they could see the Roman clench his teeth. "May you two please get back in your seats? We're nearly there."

Reaching a stop light, five cars back, Josh was forced to stop. Pulling him out and onto the floor, Kyle quickly took the seat and turned on the turn signal, planning on make a gradual "U" turn over a series of streets back to the airport.

"Josh is a Roman!" Kyle yelled out as he stepped on the accelerator, biting his lip.

Driving down the road and taking a turn, Kyle watched flashes of the fight as he struggled with the driving. Buses were absolutely harder to driver than a car. You had to deal with considering the enlarged size, the bigger wheel, all those fun stuff. He was positive after a quarter mile that he knew what he didn't want to be when he had a full time job.

Fifteen demigods, ranging in age from seven to eighteen were pointing their celestial bronze weapons at the false bus driver, Josh, as Kyle pulled the bus back into the airport where the TARDIS and two empty buses were waiting.

"You made it back safely!" Kaysen cheered happily as she leaped into Kyle's arms as he entered the TARDIS.

"Yeah, would I do any less?" he laughed, not hugging her back. She let go, a smile wide upon her face. "Umm... Here's your sonic screwdriver back."

She refused it, shaking her hand in front of the device. "You keep it. It's yours now."

"Is everyone inside?" The Doctor asked as he flipped switches and buttons, Kaysen joining him.

Since he had returned to the TARDIS, he had gotten a fresh new bow tie and a better jacket. Both looked exactly the same as the last pair Kaysen and Kyle saw when the Doctor had tried threatening them with his sonic screwdriver, but this one no longer ripped. He, somehow, also obtained a red hat of some sort, and wore it proudly. Kaysen, though, was staring at it like she couldn't believe he - er, she? - would wear something that lame.

"Yeah, everyone but the people who would influence this because they were somewhere else." Kyle has physically relaxed since they had gotten inside the TARDIS. He laughed at all the Athena kiss trying to make sense of the infinitely large thing inside a box that was, for no doubt, smaller than what it contained.

Josh and the other Romans were sitting against a wall, tied up and being watched by the majority of the older campers.

"Geronimo!" Kaysen and the Doctor yelled at the same time, flipping the final switch together.
