You were shocked, what should you say now? should you just run away to not let them notice your pain? what was the right thing to do?

"We are friends.. that's all we are.."

"C-Congratulations, I'm sorry that I did not brought a proper present, I heard from Prompto that you were sick, that's why I came by" Luna smiled

"Ohh how cute of you that you cared for his health!" she walked towards you and took the box out of your hands, Noctis looked at you, your eyes were connected and he was shocked himself, he never imagined that you would meet Luna like this when he was totally unprepared to tell you that she would be the one he was about to marry

"It's not much but I hope that they can be of any use, my mother always used them when I was sick and they worked wonders" Luna smiled as she opened the box and looked through the herbs that you brought

"Wow those are great, Noct they will definitely heal your flue!" you looked down

"I'm sorry if I interrupted, I only came by because I wanted to drop these off, I'll be on my way now so I hope you guys have a nice evening" Noctis was unable to say anything since his words were stuck in his throat

"Thank you for coming Shiro! I hope to see you again" Luna waved, you gave her a weak smile as you slowly started to step back

"I see you at school, I hope you get better soon" Noctis nodded as you broke the eye contact and walked back to the stairs, his eyes followed you and he had the urge to follow you but Luna placed her hand on his shoulder and brought him back to reality

"Hey Noct.. are you ok?" she asked as she noticed his strange face, he stepped back and let her hand peel off his shoulder

"I'm fine, can we finally eat, I'm starving" he walked back inside and Luna watched him go, his behavior was strange so was his tone, she closed the door and walked back to the kitchen.

You walked out the front door and let it shut, you leaned against it and your eyes stare into nothingness, was this really real? did he just introduce his future wife? you were so shocked and sad that you could not catch a clear thought, the snow started to turn into a light storm and the ground was covered with a thick layer, you suddenly started to run, you wanted to get away from this place as fast as you could, the image in your head repeated over and over again, you wanted to push these feelings aside and stop them for getting stronger, it was only a matter of time until he might notice that you feel more towards him than friendship.

It was monday again and you walked in the classroom tired and still in daydream mode, you dropped your coat on the wardrobe and walked towards your seat when a soft voice greeted you

"Good morning" you looked up and met up with a familiar pair of blue eyes

"G-Good morning" you replied as you saw Noctis sitting in his seat, he smiled weakly

"Thank you for the herbs, they really helped a lot" you nodded

"Sure, that's why I brought them, sorry if I made things uncomfortable because I came uninvited, I did not think that you had company" you took a seat next to him and placed your books on the table

"No.. I have to apologize, I never thought that you would come by when Luna was there... so I was totally unprepared... my father told me that she would come here for a few days because he want us to get to know each other better but then I got sick and she came to my place and tried to cure me, that was when you showed up and I did not know what to say... I'm sorry if I made it sound like you were not welcome, that was definitely not the case... I was just so surprised that my voice and my acting made you think that I don't want to have you there.." you smiled weakly

"It's alright, I am not mad or anything, I understand how you must have felt when I just showed up and you had to introduce me to your fiance but really don't let it bother you, I am alright with it, I am your friend after all forgot?" he smiled back

"Thank you.. I am really grateful that you understand... next time when you come by I promise that I let you in" you chuckled

"I hope so, it was freaking cold outside that day" he chuckled to

"Sorry I never meant for you to freeze, I will buy you lunch as a make up, is that acceptable?" you looked at him and held your hand out

"Deal! and I can choose what I want!" he nodded and took your hand

"Deal!" Prompto and Ignis walked in and saw you shaking hands

"Hey guys! what cha doing?" Prompto asked

"Noct just promised me to buy me lunch" Ignis sit down next to you

"HUUH? how come?" he asked curious

"That's none of your business guys" he smiled

"Yeah right, that's our secret" you smiled back and let the boys look at you 2 with a big question mark on their faces.

"Huuuh???? a winter ball??" Prompto shouted as he saw the huge sign being put up in the main hall, you and the others walked up to him and eyed the huge sign

"Winter Wonderland, Princess and Faeries become real for a night on December 23rd"

"Alright everyone seems like we need a date" Ignis joked as he tossed his school bag over his shoulder, he took it easy but the rest of you were literally eating up your fingernails from fear because none of you wanted to dance...

"Hey what's wrong? don't tell me you are scared?" Ignis asked, everyone shook their head

"What? who? me? no way!" all of you said at the same time, Ignis chuckled

"Come on guys, that's our last year, it's only natural that we have to attend the ball, we are the graduating class and that class is always the leader in such events..." Prompto swallowed

"D-Does that mean we have to ask a girl out to be our date?" Ignis nodded

"Yeah that's exactly what it means... come on let's go home now" he started leaving and the 3 of you followed after taking one last glimpse at the sign.

The time got closer and closer to the ball and none of you had found a "date" yet, all of you 3 tried to think of a perfect excuse to not have to show up on that ball, you spend hours in the attic thinking about a plan how to avoid this event but none of you had come up with the perfect idea, there were a few ideas put in the room like making clones of each other or erasing our names from the class book but those were impossible to do so you tried to think of something else, Ignis had fond a date already and whenever he saw you 3 he shoot you a dead glare that should tell you that not showing up to this event was not in option...

You walked down the corridor after school as you heard loud voices from the main hall, you reached it shortly after and saw how a bunch of girls were gathered around Noctis

"Please Prince Noctis, let me be your date to the ball?" the girls begged with pleading eyes and Noctis was feeling terribly uncomfortable, you watched him for a moment until you heard your phone buzzing in your pocked and you took it out, it was your father, you answered it and turned around, Noctis tried desperately to get away from these girls and suddenly his eyes caught you, his body suddenly relaxed and his lip formed into a small smile, he kept looking at you for a moment

"I'm sorry girls... but I guess I already have a date" all the girls looked at him with wide shocked eyes as he started moving away from them and towards you

"I know dad... I will be there..." you said sadly and ended the phone call, you placed it back into your pocket and whipped a tear away that had escaped your eyes and turned around, you startled as you found Noctis standing right in front of your lightly red eyes

"N-Noct?" you whispered and suddenly he took your hand which made your heart speed up in an instant

"Shiro... do you want to be my date for the winter ball?".
