For the next days you were the topic in every conversation at school, everyone was curious what you did to made the prince of Lucis talk to you, wherever you went all eyes were on you, it was uncomfortable though but you could not feel more happy to finally have made a friend who likes you the way you are, you smiled as you thought about it and daydreamed most of the time when you walked around in school, Noctis had told you to ignore the comments from the other students since they only wanted you to feel bad because they were jealous, you tried your best to keep your promise on that and walked though the crowd with a straight face and a small shy smile on your lips, Prompto was also someone who introduced himself to you shortly after you became friends with Noctis, he was a hilarious person with a funny attitude that made you crawl out of your little snail shell, you could not remember how long it has been since you last had such a good laugh with someone, this was totally new for you and you enjoyed every second of it, Noctis paid attention to your acting and he was happy that he saw your smile now more often, he did not know why but he wanted to spend more time with you.

It was lunch break as Prompto plopped himself in the chair in front your and Noctis table

"Hey guys, what do we do for lunch?" he asked resting his elbows on your desk

"Nothing yet, I was thinking about going to that place, it would be nice to relax a little since we have a free period after lunch" Noctis said packing his bag

"That is a great idea! I'm in!" Prompto smiled wide and jumped off from the chair stretching himself

"Are you going to join us Shiro?" Noctis asked with a small smile, you nodded

"Sure, if that's ok with you?" he chuckled a little

"Of course dummy, that's why I asked you" he flicked his fingers on your forehead again and you smiled in response, it was cute when he did that, you liked it even if it tended to hurt a little, but just a little

"Ok then, I'll get the food, what do you like guys?" Prompto asked

"Rise with fried chicken for me please" Noctis said

"As usual" Prompto grinned "And for you Shiro?"

"Uhh.. I take ramen please" Prompto nodded and walked out the classroom

"See you guys later!" you waved him and then Noctis and you stood up

"Come on, I'll show you our secret spot" you stood up and followed him slowly, the others looked at you two once again but you blended it out since Noctis was right next to you, you smiled weakly as you walked and he noticed it which made him smile as well, you reached the top floor and stopped at a door

"Here we are" he said and searched in his pocket for something

"Where are we?" you asked curious

"That's a surprise" he smiled and pulled out a key from his pants and unlocked the door, you saw a stairway leading up and he let you walk in first, you climbed the stairs to the top and your eyes grew big as you saw where you were, it was the attic

"Wow.. this place is amazing..." you looked around with impressed eyes while Noctis walked over to a old couch and dropped himself on it

"Prompto and I discovered it a few months ago after we had to stay for extra work after school, no one ever comes here so we use it as our secret place whenever we want to relax for a little bit" you touched a old piano and removed the dust that was lying on top of it

"This is really beautiful, I never though a place like this would exist in this school... it does not fit in at all with the architecture of the whole building"

"That's because this place was here before the school was, the people who made this place left it as an untouched storage room and ever since then the door was locked"

"This place is really something special, I can understand why you come here, it's like being in a total different world" Noctis smiled

"I guessed that you would like this place... this luxury isn't really your world am I right?" you nodded slowly

"Yeah... I don't really fit in with all those people here" he stood up and walked slowly towards you

"If I may ask why did you came to this school when you don't like it..?" you looked down and pushed a strand of your black hair behind your ear

"It's because of my father.. he wants me to visit a good school in order to have better possibilities in the future.. that's what he promised my mother before she... died" Noctis noticed that he hit a vulnerable point and apologized

"I-I'm sorry.. I did not mean to stick my noise into your life.." you shook your head

"It's ok.. I managed to be ok talking about it since I had to a lot in my previous school" he studied your face carefully

"My mother also died very young... I never really got the chance to meet her... I always had my father and his butlers that's all the family I have.." you saw a hint of sorrow in his eyes and you felt that your stories were similar to each other since he was the total opposite from you

"I'm sorry.. it must have been really hard for you to grow up without your mother.." he nodded

"It was but.. I always tried to managed things myself even if it was difficult and my fathers subordinates always looked after me but all I ever wanted was to live a normal life, that's why I wanted to come to this school, I wanted to be under people and not stuck in a room with a private teacher, I wanted to make friends who I can spend time with and laugh about things that people do in my age, I know my father understands my feelings even if it is difficult sometimes between us.." you gave him a weak smile

"I never thought that the life of a prince would be this difficult.. I always imagined it would be fabulous... but I guess it does not really matter if you are rich or poor.. both lifestyles have their ugly side.." he smiled back

"I guess so.. having everything is meaningless because you do not desire anything since you already have it all... that's why I envy you..." you looked at him with surprising eyes

"Y-You envy me..? w-why?" his eyes stared into your grey ones for a moment until he finally replied

"Because.. you are free to do whatever you want without having to explain yourself.. I live in a prison.. I can't even decide who I want to marry myself since my father already decided that for me.. I want to enjoy the time I have left until it's over.. I want to live out to the fullest and have fun that I gave not regrets once I become king.." your eyes started shaking, both of you kept eye contact for a moment without saying anything, then you suddenly spoke your thoughts out

"Hey Noct... if it is ok with you.. I would like to be with you and have fun together, we can go to all the places you want to go and make memories that you never forget until you have to marry.." your own words surprised you and you could feel a small blush appearing on your cheeks, Noctis looked at you with wide eyes, you could see that he was also taken by surprise by what you said, he noticed the small blush on your face and his lips formed into a warm smile

"I would really like that..." you smiled lightly

"Then it's settled.. right?" you asked shyly he nodded looking into your eyes, your heart started beating faster as his soft voice replied

"Yes, it is a promise".
