The ball was only a few days away now and you were really nervous, Prompto had found himself a date as well and now everyone was fine, your father heard about the school ball and he placed a check into your school bag to surprise you, you did not know yet that he was not about to be discharged from the hospital because Noctis had taken care of that..

You were sitting with everyone in the cafeteria during lunch break, you talked about random stuff as you searched through your bag looking for your hair tie, you emptied the content of your bag on the table and Noctis chuckled as he saw your stressed out face because you can't find your hair tie

"Where is it.. I was pretty sure that I had one this morning" you looked through your stuff until you finally found it

"Here it is! I was sure that I packed one!" you took it and started to tie your hair up into a ponytail since your hair was annoying you today, the others chuckled and Prompto rested his chin on his hands

"You look cute like that" he complimented you with the intent that you would blush, and you did

"T-Thank you" you said shyly as you started to put your stuff back into your bag

"Do you all have your outfit for the ball ready yet?" Ignis asked curious and the 2 boys nodded

"Yeah, I bought my suit yesterday" Prompto said

"I already have one so I don't have to buy one" Noctis said stuffing some rise into his mouth

"What about you Shiro? did you buy a dress yet?" you looked up

"Huh? oh... no I haven't yet..." Noctis looked at your face that turned into a lightly sad expression

"You should hurry, the ball is this Friday" Ignis said, you nodded

"I know.." you placed the last things in your bag and suddenly something slipped out from your book, Prompto noticed it and bend down to pick it up

"Hey you dropped something" he said and looked at the piece of paper

"Oh.. thanks" you said and suddenly his eyes lid up

"Hey this is a check over 200 dollars!" your eyes grew big

"W-What?" you asked with a shaking voice

"For my beloved daughter, I hope you buy yourself a beautiful dress, you deserve to look like a real princess on your ball, I love you xoxo dad" Prompto read out loud, your eyes started shaking as he handed you the check and you took it reading it yourself not believing what he just said

"T-This can't be true... how can he... he can't even..." you mumbled to yourself, Prompto and Ignis noticed your confused face, Noctis was the only one who knew the truth, it was him after all who told your father about the winter ball, you jumped up from your chair

"I am sorry but I have to make a phone call" you excused yourself and started leaving in a hurry, you were confused and shocked, your father could not even effort this much money to make you such a present, you walked around the corner and to a quiet place were you took out your phone and dialed his number, he picked up after a few seconds

"Hello?"

"Hey dad, it's me"

"Hey Shiro, what's wrong? did something happen at school?"

"Oh no.. I was just... I found the check in my bag and.."

"You want to know why I give this to you right?"

"Y-Yes... I don't really understand why you are making me such a big present when you can barely even effort the money we need for the rent and for my school.."
