Caught Between A War

Action....... DUEL!!!

You got to the sound of your alarm clock making you wake up "oh yeah the Championship is today" you groaned. You get ready and run out your window seeing Yuto with a smile on his face "good luck" he said as you smiled back and thanked him giving him a hug "you'll definitely win" he muttered into your ear "if I keep tying with you then I know I'll win" you laughed. Yuto hugged you one more time then you were off "hey guys" you greeted seeing Yuya, Yuzu, and Sora waiting for you "about time you came, we were thinking about making a clone of you" Yuya joked. You walk into the stadium amazed by how huge it was on the inside.

"Now the students that will represent the You Show School!"

"Let's go!" Yuya said pulling all of you to the stage in an orderly fashion, your ears were filled with cheers making a smile come to all of your team's faces. As the cheers went on you were looking within the crowds for a familiar face: Shun 'were is he!?' You shouted mentally. Finally you see teal hair which caught your attention "Shun" you breathed out "what was that?" Yuzu questioned as you shrugged it off saying that you were just a little tired. Shun seemed pissed at something, this was obvious judging by his scowling face 'I wonder who pissed him off' you said looking around to see if you knew anyone else, no one. Shun looked at you and you nod as he turned his head in the direction so you turned and saw Akaba Reiji.

For some reason you glared as well and turned back to Shun nodding back understanding why he had on a scowl, you didn't like Akabane Reiji yourself. "And now ladies and gentlemen. The moment you've all been waiting for... THE MIAMI CHAMPIONSHIP!!" the crowd raored even more causing the teams heart to skip a bear by the sudden loudness that they didn't hear before as confetti floated down from above. Everyone else had clapped, well except those who were dueling for keeps, after the rule layouts and Yuya making his encouraging speech the duels would soon commence.

"Who are you dueling Yuya?" You asked in curiosity "Sawatari. Again" Yuya sighed in disappointment "I've got Masumi" Yuzu said with an unhappy look on her face. Turning to Sora you had asked who he was to duel "some guy named Shun Kurosaki" "SHUN!?" Yuya and Yuzu shouted as your eyes widen. Sora had asked why the surprised looks but Yuya laughed it off saying that he was just think long of something else "who are you dueling?" Yuzu asked turning to you "umm.. I don't know and honestly I don't care" you respond sighing and sitting down on your chair "oh ok" Yuzu said looking at your pendant. This caught your attention but you were to focused on why Shun was here in the first place yo care.

"My duel will be easy. I doubt she's that strong" you said "I HEARD THAT!!" your opponent shouted on the other sure of the stadium "you're dueling Meiru!?" Yuya asked as you nod. Yuzu grew angry and Yuya tried calming her down "ahhh.... Calm down Yuzu" he rubbed her shoulders a bit "I DIDN'T INTEND TO WHISPER!!" you shouted back. Sora laughed a bit at your response "yeah!! Show her who's stronger!!" Sora shouted.

Yuzu's duel was first so you all sat down and watched her duel "GO YUZU GO!!!!" you shouted pumping your fist as Yuzu was now winning the duel after all that hardship Masumi was giving her. Yuzu had Fusion summoned and you felt like cringing but you held back the feeling and continued to cheer her on, eventually Yuzu won and as she walked back up you all glomped her in a hug shouting how awesome she did and how she pulled through.

Gogenzaka's duel was next and you were pretty excited to see how he would pull through without spell card since you've never seen it before. While you were looking away Sora was looking at Shun and Shun was glaring back but he kept stealing gazing at you 'so this is the Fusion she was talking about?' Shun asked himself as he saw you cheering. Sora looked at you 'so it's true, she is an Xyz user' he smirked at the newfound information. Gogenzaka's duel was pretty quick but you got a good look at his style of dueling "aren't you up next Yuya?" Yuzu asked the tomato head "yep!" Yuya was pumped for the rule hoping Sawatari had another surprise up his sleeve "I'm not going to wait forever Yuya Sakaki!" Sawatari shouted from the field "hai hai" Yuya muttered as he made his way down to the field where he would duel. You look at Shun and he looked at you.

"Meet me outside" you mouthed as he nods his head "hey guys I'm going to use the bathroom I'll be back ok?" Yuzu and Sora nods as you leave to the outside of the stadium. You turn around to meet golden eyes "so was he the one you were talking about?" He asked and you nod your head making him sigh "he's strong I know" you say silencing him. Shun didn't know what to say but you asked a question that he knew you'd ask "why are you working with LDS?" Your head was facing down and your bangs covered your eyes, Shun felt an arrow of guilt pierce his chest "I'm sorry but I have to for Ruri's sake" nodding in understanding you both walk back to the stadium saying your 'see you later's "hey (name)! Why do you look so sad?" Yuzu asked putting a hand on your shoulders "huh oh I'm fine" you look and saw that Yuya had just won the duel. When he comes up you all congratulate him on his win.

Your duel was next and you really wanted to get some stress off your shoulders, you jump all the way down the stairs and onto the stage to meet Meiru with her head up high "don't get cocky now" you grinned "hmph I won't go easy on you just so you know" she said "trying to be intimidating are we?" You got out your duel disk and deck as so did she "Action...... DUEL!!" Both shouted as the battle begun. Meiru kept talking about how she was going to beat you and be closer to Yuya which caused you to cringe "just shut up!" You shouted as you sent your monster for an attack that defeated her monster.

The duel was easy since you only lost 1000 life points. You then went back to your group as they all congratulated you "thanks guys" getting up you noticed that Shun's eye met yours, he put up a thumbs up and smiled 'thanks Shun' you said mentally with a smile.  Now it was Sora's turn. This duel you anticipated, Sora runs down the stairs and Shun walks "be careful Shun" you whisper as you walk pass him "I will" he whispers back. When he got on the field everyone felt electricity fly through the stadium, the stadium was set to a Heartland setting which caught your attention making your fist and teeth clench "(name) are you ok?" Yuzu and Yuya looked at you "I'm fine" you replied. Yuzu knew what bothered you. It was the duel set, it reminded you of Heartland. "Action...... DUEL!!" they both said. Sora summoned his adorable monsters which put the crowd in awe except you and Shun, it disgusted you two. Shun started talking about his homeland which no one understood besides you.

"HOW COULD YOU!? YOU DESTROYED HEARTLAND!!" Shun shouted making tears come to your eyes as memories of your homeland in shreds in front of your eyes. "Huh? I don't know what your talking about you baka!" Sora shot back as Shun shouted "FUSION SCUM!!" Shun destroyed all of Sora's monster in anger along with a few buildings. Sora's eyes darkened "oh shit" you mumbled "Sora?" Yuya questioned, Sora summoned many Fusion monsters onto his field "you'll never run from us Shun! No matter what you'll be hunted!" Sora shouted as a twisted expression took over his face. Shun made a 'tch' sound "finally showing your true colors huh?" An action card was nearby so Shun grabbed that in state of precaution. Your eyes widened and your chest started to hurt "damn those Fusion" tears fell from your eyes as your friend was up against a dangerous person. Finally Sora's life points hit zero as you sighed in relief and ran down the stairs forgetting about your friends. You run to Shun and hug him "Shun are you ok!?" You screamed while checking to see if he had any physical wounds "I'm fine" he said with a soft tone and patted your head. Yuya and Yuzu ran towards Sora "Sora are you ok?" They asked repeatedly.

Sora was soon hospitalized for his injuries, everyone except you went to visit him. You were at the hideout with Yuto "is Shun ok?" You asked "yeah he's fine" Yuto put a hand on your cheek "Yuto..... Promise you won't leave me, I was scared about Sora winning and if Shun would be taken away to" you pulled Yuto into a hug "please tell me you won't leave!!" You shouted into his chest "I promise, I can't leave you after all because we've known each other since diaper times" Yuto reassured you and pecked your forehead. You nod and sit with Yuto for a while. Little did you know that you wouldn't feel the warmness of Yuto's arms for a long time.
