Chapter 2: Moving Forward

Last night had been strange. Izaya had murmured stuff while unconscious, which made my heart leap in joy. I thought he would wake up. He didn't, but just him showing some sign is amazing for me.

I hadn't been able to sleep very well last night, so I'm tired as hell right now. I don't even know what kept me up, which pisses me up even more. Kisa didn't bother me, the sounds of the road weren't more annoying than normal, and my mind wasn't running rampant.

"Are you alright? You've been kind of out of it all day," I look over at Tom.

(A/n: That was so hard to write Tom and not Thomas. My sister calls him Thomas, so I just can't...)

"I'm fine," I reply, trying my best to keep my tone free of bitterness.

"Is it about....Izaya?" He hesitates before saying the name of my loved one.

I give him a small, guilty smile. Izaya probably is the reason. The small hope that he might get better is enough to think about him, even if it's subconsciously. "I'm being honest. Nothing bad happened. Trust me. And it's okay to talk about Izaya."

"Well," he thinks for a bit. "Just keep in mind I'm always here for you if you want to talk."

"Thanks," I reply and I hear a phone go off. Tom pulls his phone out of his pocket and looks at the screen.

"It looks like Namie wanted to see you." He tells me, continuing to look at the small screen in his hand.

"Really? About what?" Namie usually doesn't talk to me that often. After the whole ordeal with Izaya, she took over his job as an informant. She's also became a lot nicer and gentler. She'll call me every now and then, but most of the time it's work related.

"I'm not sure. It says, 'Urgent. Need to talk to Shizuo.'" Tom reads the message in a calm voice despite the contents. As usual, she'd rather have me make the trek to her house than type out what she wants.

I sigh. "Well, she'll have to wait."

"It's fine," Tom tells me. "The work day is almost over anyway. I'll be fine."

"Are you sure?" I feel slightly uneasy. I don't want to leave Tom by himself, but the day is almost over and he's okay with it..

He nods and I thank him. I walk down the streets as I make my way to Namie's house. She copied all of Izaya's files and took the important notes for herself. She didn't want to live in his house. Plus, since he's not dead, she technically can't take anything.

I knock on the door and wait for a reply. I hear a muffled "Come in" from the other side of the door and twist the metal knob, pushing the door open in the same movement.

I walk into the spacious room and look at Namie who's waiting for me on the couch.

"What'd you need?" I ask and sit down across from her.

"Well, I just wanted to warn you." I wait for her to go on. She takes a while before adding on. "You may have a stalker soon."

"What!?" I'm not completely sure I heard her correctly. Me? Have a stalker? Other than Izaya? That makes no sense! Why would someone want to follow me around?

"A woman came in earlier asking for some of your personal information. She offered a lot of money, so of course I jumped at the offer." Keep in mind I said she was nicer. She can still be a total jackass sometimes, too, but she probably developed that by hanging around Izaya for such a long time so I don't blame her.

"That doesn't mean you should give it to her!" I know arguing is futile, but I hope to at least make her feel some guilt. "What was it anyway?"

"I gave her your address, place of employment, and the places you volunteer."

I rub my temples. I swear. Every one I hang out with is a bunch of morons, but I guess she didn't give out any information on my brother, so at least that's okay. But my address? That one makes me a little uneasy.

"Do you know who she is?"

"I'm not allowed to give out information of my clients," she smirks at me.

I glare at her, "You gave her my information, so it's only fair you tell me what I need to look out for."

"Well, okay then. She identifies as a prostitute."

This is dedicated to car_que405 as a thank you for voting on and reading all of the chapters of Psychopathic Love as well as this.

Sorry, guys. I need to stop there. I'm super tired right now and I have to get up at the crack of dawn for school.

Also, I'm going to be taking a, hopefully, small break. I have a couple things I really need to get done besides homework and so I need to focus all my attention on that so I can get it done faster. The good news is my last day of work is this Sunday, so my weekends will be mostly free. Yay!

Bye, bye!
