Chapter 4

Ren:

The club light's were blinking rapidly and the noise from the DJ was nearly deafening, and we weren't even inside yet. She handed one of the bouncers at the door our IDs, when they let us in, Dominique turned to smirk at me."Now, let's go have some fun," she said dragging me out the dance floor, dancing all the way.

"Pushy," I muttered, trying to navigate through the thick crowd of people that she tried to pull me though.

When she stopped, I almost ran into her, not expecting the movement, she turned to me and said that she just had to dance for this song and even though I didn't like dancing, I did dance with her. I thought that I heard some whistles, but I just took it for something in the song. For some reason, Dominique started to laugh and then since I couldn't resist, I also burst out laughing, almost tripping over my feet.

I let my eyes wander as the song morphed into another upbeat song and I stopped breathing. For a split second, my eyes connected with a pair of deep blue ones. I whipped my head away and tried to discreetly hide behind Dominique. "Oh my goodness, Mee-me, Ian's here!" I said as quietly as I could with her still being able to hear it, my voice still broke in panic. I twisted her shoulders enough so that she could see him, still hiding behind her. "Can we pretty, pretty, please go over there?" I practically begged her.

She laughed, and shook her head. "Yeah, sure. Why not? I need something to drink anyway," she said amused, she linked her arm with mine before walking over to the bar and ordering us two drinks.

"Ren, Dominique? Is that you?" a familiar voice asked from right behind us.

Oh, no, I thought, please, please, don't let that be him! I didn't know why, but something about him always made me a little nervous, tense. I wasn't sure that I liked it. I also wasn't too thrilled about the way that he looked at me.

"Dammit," I said under my breath. I turned around slowly, reluctantly. I cocked my head to the side, pretending like I didn't remember him so that he would hopefully leave us alone. "Ian?"

He smiled, nodding. "Nice to see you again. Didn't expect to run into you here," he said, looking at Dominique for less than a second before focusing on me again.

I squirmed under his gaze but fought to keep looking causal. I was so wrapped up in what I was doing, that when Dominique gasped, I jumped. I looked back at her and raised an eyebrow at her, she didn't even notice me.

"Hey, who're they?"

So that was what she was so concentrated on, I thought in surprise. In all the years that I had known her, I had never seen her really look at a guy like this- well after we became friends.

Ian smirked at him. "Well, this beautiful girl is Ren," he said and I turned bright red and shifted uncomfortably, "and this is her friend Dominique."

Ian's friend smiled at her, took her hand and kissed it like they did in all of those old movies. If my eyes weren't deceiving me, I would think that she was just about ready to melt, but I just took it as how the lights from the club were hitting her. "Nice to meet you, Dominique. That is such a pretty name. My name is Aiden, Aiden Yule."

Her mouth opened, then closed, then opened it and closed it again, she looked at him, dazed, and then looked back helplessly at me. I tried to motion to her to do something, but she didn't seem to be getting the message, so I stepped on her toes. She squeaked and jumped, finally seemed to come back down to earth. "Oh, um, sorry," she mumbled and then did something that I had never seen her do before, she blushed.

Aiden laughed. "It's alright?"

"Well, um, Aiden is also an interesting name. It means fiery... but it also means a cry baby that hates losing games, but I guess that's okay too. The only thing that is really weird is that apparently Aidens' are supposed to graze other guy's pan-mumfh," I cut her off by clamping my hand over her mouth.
