Chapter 9

Ren:

"So when working with Dolphins," the instructor droned on, "don't-"

"Please, please, kill me, Mee-me."

She rolled her eyes. "Ren, shut up, I'm trying to listen!"

I groaned and leaned into her. "But we've heard all of this before, the only difference is that the animals always here!"

"Just shut up, then we can just leave!" she whispered elbowing.

I groaned again and went back to 'listening'. Our instructors had taken us to an aquarium- as they had before- and we had various presentations and lectures from the researchers there. We were here all day and then in a few days, we were actually going to help researchers out on the Pacific Ocean.

"How much longer?" I whispered in Dominique's ear. We had been standing at the Dolphin Tank for what seemed like hours now just listening to this never-ending lecture.

"Only about-" she paused and checked her watch "-ten more minutes."

"Just kill me now."

"Oh shut up, once we leave here, you can go see Ian," she teased me.

"I hate you," I stated.

"You know that you love me," she said just as the instructor said that we could leave.

I grabbed my bag off of the floor and hurried out of the room before they could change their minds and call us back. "I so don't...we maybe sometimes. Also, F.Y.I., Ian and I are not dating. He just won't leave me alone."

"Well you guys will be soon."

"I-" Actually, I had no comeback for that one. I knew I should have denied it, but for some reason, I couldn't.

"Told you so," she laughed while walking ahead of me to her car.

"Shut up."

"God, Mee-me! It is freezing in here!" I complained the second that I walking into our hotel room.

"And that is my fault?" she asked while plopping down on her bed and letting out a groan.

"Yes!" I turned off the air conditioning and opened up the balcony door to let the afternoon heat in. "Since it is only... seven at night... what are we going to do? I am really bored."

"Go call up Ian and see if him and Aiden want to come over and do something."

I groaned. "I don't think that I am that bored."

"Oh come on."

"You suck," I muttered, but flipped open my cell and called Ian's number- that I honestly had no clue how it got into my phone- and walked back onto the balcony and shut the door.

"I knew you'd call, babe."

"I told you already," I nearly growled, "don't call me that."

"You're in a great mood," Ian noted. "So why do I have the pleasure of hearing your voice?"

"You're an ass," I sighed. "Anyway, first of all, how the hell did I get your number, and second, I am bored and Dominique wants us to go out. Are you and Aiden up for it?"

"To answer that first question, were asleep in my vicinity more than once with your cell phone with you and how could I not go through it. And that second question... I'm game. Aiden-uh, we'll just be there."

"Be where?" I asked in exasperation. The dial tone was my answer.

"They're coming," I told Dominique coming back into the room.
