Esme POV

Once everyone was seated, I called for the servants to bring the food out. Tonight's meal would consist of very, very rare steak, and blood wine. As cups were filled, and plates covered with food, everyone dug in. I didn't know how this night would go, let alone end. Everyone seemed a bit on edge. Bella was catching hell from Alice, Jasper, Emmett and Rosalie. Roslice seemed to be calm during the whole thing, although I could tell she had a few things to say. Aro was staring holes in the side of Carlisle's face, I did my best to distract him, and cheer him up. Though after an hour of all of it, I didn't seem to be getting anywhere, so I leaned up real close to him, until my lips were right by his ear.

"He'll be gone in a few." I whispered. I don't know why I'd try to whisper in a room full of vampires.. but I did, and you guessed it, they all snapped their heads in our direction. Aro gave my hand a quick squeeze and I smiled.

"Problem, Esme?" Carlisle asked, stuffing a piece of steak in his mouth.

I smiled slightly, and shook my head no. "Of course not, why do you ask?"

Everyone chuckled "Oh I don't know, maybe because you just attempted to whisper at a table full of vampires." Jasper replied, his eyebrows raised in amusement.

I laughed and threw my napkin at him, "Shut up." I muttered, burying my head in the crook of Aro's neck.

"Esme?" Carlisle questioned.

I looked over at him, realizing that he was staring at mine and Aro's current position, I immediately jumped away, and looked down at my plate.

"Can I talk to you for a moment." Carlisle asked me.

"Anything you have to say to her, can be said here." Aro hissed, before I could reply. Carlisle looked from Aro to me, and nodded.

"Very well then, Esme don't you think it's wrong of you to flirt with another man in front of your husband?" He asked.

My eyes widened at his words, as I felt Aro tense beside me. "Carlisle that is absurd! We are no longer married!" I shouted.

Gasps echoed throughout the dining room at this revelation.

"Esme-" Rose started, but I interrupted.

"No, it's true, he cheated on me, Roslice is his, so I divorced him.-" I turned to face Carlisle, of course by now I was standing. "And you! Carlisle no longer reserve the right to call me your wife! I am of no such thing." I finished. I took a couple breaths, and returned to my seat. I looked at everyone's faces, they were filled with shock, sadness, but no not Aro, his was simply happiness. Who could blame him?

Carlisle was lost for words, hurt and broken. I could see it in his eyes. I guess he had had enough because he turned on his heel, and headed towards the exit of dining room, but he stopped short and turned back to face us.

"You know what? I've been meaning to ask you this, but it slipped my mind this whole night." He stated.

I furrowed my eyebrows, "What is it?" I asked.

"If we're mates, and now we're separated.. why aren't you in any pain, or suffering from withdrawal like I did?" He asked.

At that moment my cold unbeating heart stopped.

"I-I umm... I don't know.."

"Esme.." Bella warned me lowly.

I looked at Aro.. "I can't do this right now." I said.

"I'll do it." He replied, giving my hand another squeeze, as he stood up from the table and face Carlisle boldly.

"Do what?" Carlisle asked, cocking his head to the side?

"Tell you that Esme and I are true mates." He replied, taking hold of my hand.

I watched as as Carlisle's face twisted in anger. He was taking deep breathes, as anger began to get the best of him. Slowly, but surely, I noticed everyone began to leave the dining room, all except for Marcus and Caius.

Bella POV

I sighed as we all finally made it out of the dining room. That was their private matters to handle, besides I didn't want to be there when Carlisle exploded. My thoughts were interrupted when I felt someone drag me into a random bedroom. I looked up, to see who had taken me, and you guessed it, It was Edward.

"Edward what do you think your doing?!" I hissed.

"Talking to you." He replied.

I sighed heavily in frustration. "You can't just go pulling people into rooms! Especially not vampires!" He chuckled, but stopped almost as he remembered why he really pulled me into the room.

"I need to know Bella." He said.

I scrunched my up nose in confusion. "What?"

"I need to know, all of it." He replied.

"Know what?" I asked.

He sighed, running his fingers through his quiffed bronze colored hair, and looked towards the floor, suddenly seeming to find it more interesting. "How you and Carlisle slept together, tell me the rest.." He finally muttered, looking down at his hands.

"Edward I-" I began but he stopped me.

"Bella please.. I deserve to know." He cried.

I threw my hands up in surrender. I walked over to the empty bed, and gently sat down on the edge. I pondered over this all in my mind over a billion time ya know. Like how would I tell him, would I be able to ever tell him. I guess I've answered most of those questions already huh? It's now or never, he deserves to know..

I looked over at Edward, and sighed.

"Alright fine." I whispered, a little unsure of muself.
