Jane POV

I walked up the spiral stairs, that lead to the bedrooms. I had been instructed to keep an secret eye on Master Aro's sister, Melina. I wasn't to thrilled about the job, but if it meant saving my sister, then So be it.

As I came around the corner, I saw Melina reading a book in her room. I walked over to her door and leaned against the frame. I softly reached my hand up against the wood and knocked softly. She looked up at me for a split second.

"Just checking on you." I lied.

She tilted her head to the left, and arched an eyebrow. "For What reasons?"

"I um.. just um. -" I stuttered trying to find am excuse, but failed.

"What is it that you really want Jane.?" She asked, annoyance threaded through her every word as She closed her book slightly, trying not to lose her place.

"I'm bored." I said, but in reality, I was being being truthful.. I was bored, I rather be out on the hunt with Master Aro, looking for my sister.

She studied my features for a few seconds, before speaking."Well then, do come and join me." She said, motioning to a chair beside her.

I smiled falsely, and walked towards the chair. I sat down slowly, and inspected the book She was reading. I chuckled slightly, catching her attention.

"Something you find funny?" She asked.

I shook my head carelessly, causing my blonde curls to bounce. "No, not at all.." I paused.

She turned her attention back to her book, slightly crossing her legs.

"It's just that, that novel is very.. stereotypical." I finished.

She looked back up at me, her red eyes eying me cautiously.

"And how do you figure that?" She asked plainly.

I smiled slightly, "It's about vampires.."

She looked intensely at me for a second, before smiling widely. She shook her head, closing the book completely, and folding her arms.

"Your point?"

"That book is full of lies and assumptions." I replied, intertwining my fingers.

She smiled wider. "So are you implying that we are not real?"

I shook my head. "No, that would be absurd. Obviously we are."

Her smile faded, and was replaced with a scowl. "Then jane, this conversation was and is completely and utterly pointless."

A low growl erupted from my throat, as I shot to my feet. I had never felt So disrespected in all my 300 years. We stared intensely at each other, before I whispered that one terrifying word.

"Pain."

Roslice POV

I weakly peaked up through my lashes, to look up at Maria as She paced eagerly across the room. I sat completely still, hoping that she'd feed me today. After all I needed all the strength, if I had any hopes of getting out this hell hole.. I just didn't know how I was going to manage any of this, She was only giving me enough blood to survive .

"I should've heard back from her already!" She growled.

I gently shook my head, allowing the cloth in my mouth to fall out.

"Maybe this is her plan." I breathed.

She snapped her head in my direction and eyed me.

"Did I ask for your opinion?" She growled.
