          Relief.

That was the feeling I had encountered most that night. Ripping my engagement photos off the wall and throwing them into the fireplace was a feeling like no other. Sitting there, watching the fire turn them into ashes, gave me a sense of pure relief.

Within an hour, I had destroyed every printed memory of that God awful man. And once that was done, I burned every item that reminded me of him, including a blanket, two pillows, a sheet set, and his stupid t-shirts. My house was officially free of Cain Velasquez and just the thought of that made me smile...

For the first time in over six months, I slept in my own bed. I fell asleep much easier than I had expected and to my surprise, no nightmares came. I had been warned that if I were to skip a dose of my medication, they could occur more frequently than normal. But then again, maybe I was just too tired to remember it.

With a few hours of sleep to clear my mind, I was ready to tackle the press conference. I had taken extra precautions to make sure that I looked intimidatingly professional. Today was the day that Cain would see me for the first time and I wanted to make sure that I painted him a good mental picture...

          Game. On.

Once I was ready, I left my master suite and headed down the hall

Once I was ready, I left my master suite and headed down the hall. As I stood at the top of the stairs, a glimmer caught my eye. Two purple, diamond letters hung on the nursery room door.

P.G. were her initials and right after I found out the gender and named her, Dana's wife bought those for her nursery. I remembered standing in that door, trying to figure out how to hang them. It took me over an hour to figure out that the ribbon tied on the back door handle and I laughed at myself all day over it...

Snapping out of my forgotten memory, I heard the doorbell ring. Without thinking twice, I headed down the stairs and looked out the window. Dana was here. "How'd you know where I was?" I ask, opening the door.

"Brock text me last night and said that you asked for him to bring you here. He made it clear that he was just letting me know where to find you and not to come barging in on you last night. Any reason why he was so precise?"

I step back as he waltzes inside. "I may have snapped at him..." His gaze fixated on me as if I were his mean, little kid who had just broken the neighbor's window with my baseball. "I didn't mean to, he just mentioned a trigger for me. He didn't know and I'm sure he's over it by now anyway."

He holds up his hand, signaling me to stop. "I don't even want to know. Whatever you did, just fix it. Brock's not always an easy person to get along with, so it's best for everyone if you stay on his good side. Agreed?" I nod as he changes the subject. "Now, the press conference begins in less than an hour. Let's get going."
