"Brock?" I called his name over and over as I walked through the house the next morning. I had managed to sleep outside all night, waiting for him, but he never showed. "Seriously, this isn't funny," I whispered to myself.

I was truly beginning to worry about him. Where the hell was he? I wandered outside and noticed his truck was gone. Okay, at least he's alive, I think. I took out my phone and called his number but only got voice mail. I was getting more and more frustrated until my phone dinged, signaling a text message.

Hey, Kate! Brock showed up at the gym today super ticked off. He wants to start training for his next match. I thought it was a little early, but he refuses to listen. Any idea why he's so upset? And congrats on the baby. – Rodrigo

Relief washed over me as I text Rodrigo back and asked for the address. To my surprise, it was Brock's private gym, located on the other side of the property. I had lived here several months now and no one had ever mentioned it.

Once I was dressed and decent, I got in my car and drove down the dirt road to the south side of the property. A large metal building came into view with several cars out front. Knowing it was just the boys, I pulled in beside of them and headed into the gym. Brock was in the ring grappling with Big Steve. Rodrigo and Jase were on the sidelines barking orders.

I sat on some exercise equipment and text Rodrigo exactly what happened. When he read the message, he looked back at me and shook his head. It was then that I realized I had really screwed up. Apparently, everyone, but me, knew that Brock's ex and kids were off limits. I assumed that was the no-go zone with him.

        Crap.

"Break!" Rodrigo shouted as Brock let go of Steve and finally, noticed me.

"Did you call her?" Brock asked, looking toward Rodrigo.

He shook his head. "No, I did not. I text her."

Brock gave him a death glare and rolled out of the ring. You know, Brock never really scared me, but when he's this big fuming beast and he's headed straight for you, you can't help but be a little nervous. "What do you want?"

I sighed. "Well, I'm on the payroll as a trainer and you're training. So, here I am."

He stopped when he was within a few feet of me. "I've got the guys, I don't need you."

Ouch. "Maybe so, but I thought I was your secret weapon." I smiled, hoping to get him to lighten up.

          "Leave."

I was taken aback by his tone. "What?"

"Leave. I don't need or want you here. You've got the kid now, why are you still using me?"

I held back a gasp. "Using you? What the hell does that mean?"

"Let's see, you used me to get rid of Cain. You used me to get away from Dana. You used me to get you that kid-"

I cut him off. "Enough! I can't even believe what you're saying right now! You agreed to teach Cain a lesson! You wanted me to come here! Not the other way around! And you wanted to help me get Grace! I can't believe you're doing all of this because of one stupid thing I asked Dana to do! I just wanted to help you see your kids! I thought I was paying you back. I thought I was helping you like you helped me!"

Before I realized I was so close to Brock's face, Rodrigo separated us. "Okay, I think that's enough. Maybe you two should calm down before you talk this out..."

"I'm done talking." Brock added, walking away from me.

"Fine! If this is the way it's gonna be, I'm leaving. When Grace comes home, she doesn't need to be in the middle of fighting! I'll have my things gone by lunch."

"Good. I didn't want no crying baby in my house anyway."

All the color drained from my face as I turned and exited the building. I couldn't believe what he had just said to me. He promised me he would never hurt me... And he didn't.

          He devastated me.
