HOUSE OF TUNNELS

Chapter 7

The next day Danya visits Jamal in his room.
"Hey!" He smiles.
"Where's Sami?" Danya glares.
"How would I know?"
"That's the right answer. Because you SHOULD be staying away from Sami because you SHOULD choose Annika."
"Why do you want me to choose Annika?"
"Just trying to help!"
Danya smiles and walks away.
Jamal sighs and falls onto his bed.

In Savanna, Elayna and Sami's room, Elayna searches for her lost amulet.
Mrs. Andrews walks in and goes to Savanna.
"Mrs. Andrews!" She smiles. "Why are you here?"
"It's about the newspaper!" Mrs. Andrews replies. "We need a new gripping article!"
"I'd be happy to do it!" Sami chimes in.
"I would actually like Savanna to do this one.."
Sami rolls her eyes and walks away.
"What is it about?" Savanna asks.
"It's about Trudy's replacement, Vera. She has a sense of mystery to her. I would like you to investigate on her background and solve it. Then, you can write all about it in the paper!"
"I'd love to!"
Mrs. Andrews smiles and walks away.

In Tyler and Hunter's room, Hunter enters and sees that the duck has popped out the gem.
"Yes!" He exclaims.

In the bathroom, Hunter and Savanna wash the poop off of the gem.
"It's actually working!" Savanna cheers.
The Gem slips out of their hands and falls down into the drain.
"NO!" Hunter screams.

That night, Sibuna goes down into the cellar and into the secret room.
"Are you guys ready?" Annika takes a deep breath.
Everyone else nods and they enter the tunnels and the beam of light scans them all.
But when the light reaches Elayna, it blinds her due to the absence of her amulet.
Elayna screams out in pain. "I can't see!"
Everyone goes back into the secret room and sets Elayna on the couch.
"What happened?!" Tyler exclaims.
"I lost my amulet!" Elayna admits.
"We'll come back another time." Annika states.
"No!" Elayna stops them. "It's fine! You guys go without me! I'll be fine here!"
"Are you sure?" Annika asks.
"Yes! Just go!"
Everyone goes into the tunnels.
Later, Elayna sits in the room, blind.
She hears someone coming in and she hears Victor and Vera.
"Be safe in there!" Vera says.
"I will." Victor assures.
Elayna gasps when she realizes Victor and Vera are working together to find the Mask in the tunnels.
