[Poe]
I had learned a lot more about Finn the more we walked. Really all I had to do was ask a couple questions and his mouth was like a motor boat. Just talking and talking. I don't know why, but his life was much more intriguing to me, than finding my base. I could listen to him talk all day. I just loved his voice in general.
It was the kind of voice you wanted to narrate a book. The kind of voice you just wanted to heard when you were sad. Most of the time I wasn't even listening to what he was saying. I was listening to his voice.
"-what about you?" He asked.
I shook out of my trance. "Sorry?"
"I've been talking the entire time. But I barely know anything about you." Finn said.
"Oh, it's really nothing special I-"
"Seriously. I really do want to know." Finn said, staring straight into my eyes.
I nodded. "Well, I was born in America, but I moved out to Europe to join The Resistance-"
"What about your family?" Finn asked.
"Oh. Well uh...my mom and dad they worked for The Rebellion, back in the 80s. That was where they met. My mother, Shara Bay, was one of the best pilots on the rebellion, while my father was a great soldier. They died when I was fifteen. So I trained to be like them and more."
"They sounded amazing. What were they like?" Finn asked, wonder twinkling in his eyes.
At first it was a little weird, but then I remembered he'd never really known his parents.
"Well they were kind hearted and selfless. They always put others-"
"No, no, no. I mean when they weren't fighting. When they were just being parents." Finn interrupted.
"Oh, um well. My mom was a jokester. She was always playing pranks on my dad. My dad needed her. He was hard and serious. They sort of evened each other out. I guess I'm more like my mom though. That's what everyone says. People said that I was a splitting image of a boy version of her. One trait I recognize from her are her eyes. I have my moms eyes."
"She must have been beautiful." Finn blurted.
I smirked. "Guess that means I'm beautiful too right?" I joked.
Finn started to turn red. "I meant-"
"It's fine. Anything else you wanted to know?" I asked.
"No, it's fine." Finn said, then started looking around. "Is that your base?" He asked pointing to the Air Force port. Late ships were starting to take off.
"Yeah that's it." I said nodding.
I guess this journey was ending sooner than I thought it would.
[Finn]
We had finally reached Poe's base. It was large that was for sure. The stone walls were almost higher than the trees. Security towers surrounded the base. Almost as soon as we stepped out into the clearing, snipers had their guns trained on us.
