I awoke to the sound of the emergency siren. My eyes snapped open. There was an explosion off in the distance. Dani had disappeared from her usual spot next to my bed. I heard guns and yelling. What was going on out there? I had to get out of here. I sat up slowly in and placed my feet on the cold hard stone floor. I took a deep breath, and hoisted myself up. My chestache came back, pounding my rib cage. My eyes burned as tears came spilling out. God it hurt.

I looked around for something to lean on. I sat down in the chair Dani was supposed to be in. I wheezed every time I took a breath, my chest heaving. Having lung cancer really sucks when your base is under attack. The flap of the tent burst open and so did Dani. She had a wheel chair and a gun strapped to her side.

"Let's go." She said.

I got in the wheel chair, then Dani took off like a rocket. Outside it was chaotic. Soldiers fired at one another wildly. Was this The Resistance? Dani wheeled me inside the base where everyone was bustling about. Some running towards the fight, others running away. I saw Jay.

He was dead.

His eyes were wide open and his gun still in his hand. He had multiple bullet wounds in his chest. He was lying in his own pool of blood. I looked away. I may not have liked him, but I'd never wish a death so brutal.

Dani wheeled me into a room of patients, doctors, and nurses. In the middle of the room stood all three of the commanding officers. Commander Ren, General Hux, and Captain Phasma. They all wore pollution masks, bullet proof vests, and their usual wardrobe of black trench coats. They we're talking to man I'd never seen before. He was tall. Not as tall as Bacca, but tall. He was bald and very pale. They all stood at attention.

He must be Leader Snoke.

Coy had told me about Leader Snoke. Coy had only ever met him once. Snoke was the one who took Coy away from his family. Coy always remembered the scene as if it happened yesterday. Snoke came in his home while the rest of his village was under attack. He killed his family and took him away. Coy used to have nightmares abut Snoke and he would wake up in the middle of the night screaming for his parents. This stopped when he turned thirteen.

Leader Snoke looked behind their shoulders and straight at me. My eyes widened in fear. Leader Snoke held my gaze before Commander Ren caught his attention again. I looked down at my shoes and tried not to look back.

I followed Bacca and Rey through the base. They seemed to know their way. Jessika ran next to me. Six other soldiers behind us.

"Finn must be really important if we're on this mission." Jessika said.

"It's not just about Finn. We're taking out numbers of their troops. They won't last long on battlefield." I explained.

"Smart Dameron." Jess said.

Rey and Bacca stopped and snuck into a room. The rest of us followed behind them. After we'd seen the coast was clear, we finally relaxed and sat down.

"Rey what is this place?" Jess asked.

"It's one of the pipe rooms. I think these are water pumps. I was looking for a map. The water pumps lead to all the rooms here. If we can find the map-"

"Here!" Bacca exclaimed.

We all rushed to the wall where a plated map was mounted on the wall. It was very high. Bacca pointed to one of the rooms.

"Maybe he's in here. This is the emergency escape bay. He'll be escaping with the rest of the workers." Bacca said.

"What if he's injured? Wouldn't be be in the emergency medical bay?" Rena, one of the soldiers asked.

"That's a good point Rena. We should split up." Rey said.

"Right. Me, Jess, Rena, Jasper, and Levi will go to the emergency medical bay. Bacca, Rey, Joel, Alonzo, and Arabella will got to the emergency escape bay." I ordered.

As everyone prepped to get ready, I walked over to Rey and Bacca, who were prepping up their guns.

"Rey-"

"Don't come over here to say goodbye Poe. That's not what's happening. We are going to see each other again." She said.

"How do you know that?" I asked her.

"Because if you really want it, then you'll make it happen. You're going to make it. Bacca and I are gonna make it. I promise you." She said.

I nodded and hugged her. "Thank you Rey."

"For what?"

"For everything."

After we'd split and gone our separate ways, I was already ready to do whatever it took to get back to Finn. I would die, if it meant that Finn got to live a happy life without The First Order ruining everything for him. When we reached the emergency medical bay I saw something that broke my heart.

Patients.

They were all getting bandaged and ready for take off. One man was knocked out cold while some people did an amputation on his arm. In the middle of the room stood Commander Ren and some other people who I didn't know. His long hair was sleeked back into a low ponytail his face cold and hard.

Jeez that man was scary.

Then I saw him.

Finn.

He was laying down in one of the beds, his arm connected to an IV cord. He looked weak, but he wasn't really hurt. Not that u could see anyway. I didn't see a broken anything and he wasn't bleeding. Why was he here?

I turned back to my team. "Okay everyone, this is a medical bay. The people in here are injured and hurt." I pointed towards a closet. "That has all the medical clothes we're going to need. Everyone needs to put on some medical clothes, hide your guns under the scrubs." I whispered.

Everyone nodded and we all ran towards the closet. Rena and Jess went to change in one of the women's closet. After everyone was changed we all split up. Jess and I made a bee line for Finn. His nurse turned just in time to see us approach.

"Who are you?" She asked.

"We thought you could use some help." Jess answered.

Finn caught my eye. He didn't seem to recognize although he looked like he was trying to figure me out. I needed to give him some kind of sign. I winked. Finn did a double take and smiled genuinely.

He was happy.

He was happy to see me.
