The Fear of Sight

Zenix's POV

Huh. This isn't what I was expecting at all for a maid café. But then I see Kawaii~Chan in a short skirt and I understand. I understand why the guys like it here.

I kinda want to punch them now.

Kawaii~Chan comes up to us and greets us,
"Hello, Zenix~Kun, Garroth~Kun, Laurence~Kun, Dante~Kun, and Travis~Kun!"
"Hey Kawaii~Chan," Laurence replies, "Just making sure, there are no Zane maids here..." Kawaii~Chan giggles.
"No! Zane~Kun does not work here!" She answers, still giggling.
"Thank Irene..." Garroth lets out a sigh of relief. I decide not to ask what the whole Zane thing is about.
"There may not be a Zane~Kun in a maid outfit, but there is a Y/N~Sama!" Kawaii~Chan exclaims. Wait, what?!
"Ooh, really?" Dante cracks up, "how did you even get her into the outfit?!"
"Did you bribe her?!" Travis laughs, but Kawaii~Chan shakes her head nervously,
"Kawaii~Chan made a deal with her..." I am just flat out blushing I think. Look, I know we're married but... WHY ON EARTH DOES SHE HAVE A MAID OUTFIT ON?! Well. Now that I know what that is... I think I'm sweating too. This is weird, why am I nervous to see her? I really shouldn't be...
"Zenix, you alright there, bud?" Garroth pats my back and I snap to attention.
"Y-YEAH." It's not like I'm going to see her in the outfit or anything...

Y/N's POV

Thankfully I had made an escape back to the dressing room, but I know I can't stay in here. I made Kawaii~Chan a promise and I'm going to serve at the tables on the other side. Since the guys are all at the large booth in the far corner of the right side, I'll just serve on the left side and they shouldn't be able to see me because of the booths in between. I look at the guys one last time before walking to the other side of the café and not looking back.

Zenix's POV

This is just awkward... Y/N is in this restaurant somewhere, and all of these guys want to see her! Like, what the nether?! Quite frankly, I don't need to see her to be satisfied. I'm sure she looks beautiful as always, but I don't think I need to see her in a maid outfit to survive. I get out of the side of the booth abruptly.
"Zenix, what are you doing?" Dante asks.
"Where is the restroom?" I ignore Dante and address my question to Kawaii~Chan. She turns toward me and smiles. Irene, why does this girl smile so much...?! I never really knew Kawaii~Chan as well as Y/N does. Maybe I should make an effort...
"Kawaii~Chan thinks it's just to the right when you get to the other side of the café!"
"Thank you," I nod and walk to the back of the café. I can feel the other guy's gazes burning into my back.

Y/N's POV

OKAY. EVERYTHING HAS BEEN GOOD. I look at the clock on the wall and it says that I only have to work for a little bit longer until my break. Since I came out later than I was supposed to, I guess there was less time left for me to work. Kawaii~Chan said she asked someone else to work in place of me when I go on my break so that I don't have to work for the rest of the day. OR EVER AGAIN. I hope Aphmau isn't as sick tomorrow so she can work. I mean, I guess I do get paid today, but I need to find an actual job that I wold be decently good at. People have talked about Zenix having a job, but I have never really asked him... He does make money... And whatever it is, it clearly doesn't consume a lot of his life because I never see him leave to go anywhere to work. Wow, now I'm confused... I realize that I've just been standing, staring at the clock that's high up on the wall. But when I tilt my head down, I see Zenix looking at me, his eyes wider than I've ever seen them. Oh.

Zenix's POV

She's actually here in the outfit... I want to tell her how adorable she looks, but this doesn't seem like the time because Y/N is staring at me with a nervous look on her face. I swallow some spit. Let's just make this not awkward...
"Is this the restroom...?" I ask her and point to the room behind me. Y/N nods,
"Y-yeah..."
"Thanks," I walk into the room and softly close the door, leaning on it and releasing a breath. Kawaii~Chan did tell me she was in the outfit, but I didn't really think Y/N would do that...

Y/N's POV

I look at the clock again when Zenix is in the restroom and see that it's past my shift, so my replacement should be here--- WAIT. I whip my head to look at the restroom again. IS ZENIX MY REPLACEMENT?!
