It was a few days after the sleepover and the party was tonight. I was with my dad in the car driving to the Brooks' house. This was so crazy, I was going to a party with the janoskians and their girlfriends. A week ago I wouldn't think that was even possible, how did it even come to this? All because I forgot my phone at the park that one day I met them. My phone started to vibrate so I looked down at it. Kat was calling.

"Hey, Kat." I said. My dad looked over at me. He realized I was on my phone and I saw him smile. He knew I didn't have friends so he was probably proud of me right now. He looked forward and continued driving.

"Hey, Mari! It's James! I'm on Kat's phone. She's getting dressed, she wanted to know if you were almost here." James. I was on the phone with James. I took a deep breath because I didn't want to sound nervous talking to him.

"Oh, um, hi James. Yeah, I'm almost there, give me two minutes!" I said.

"Okay, sure, see you soon." He replied.

"Bye!" I said. I heard him hang up so I did too.

"Who's James?" My dad winked at me. Oh my god.

"A boy." I said. What was I supposed to tell him? A famous boy? He wouldn't believe me. Either that or he wouldn't let me go. He couldn't handle that right now, I mean, it would be really sudden to tell him I was going to see a group of famous boys and their girlfriends.

"Do you like him?" My dad asked. He was so awkward, why was he asking me this?

"No, dad. I mean, he's nice and a great person. I love him. But not like that. He has a girlfriend."

"Oh, so what if he didn't have a girlfriend? I see you're all dressed up nice." He laughed.

"No, dad, stop. It's because I'm going with my friends to a party, and they're bringing their boyfriends." I said.

"Are you bringing your boyfriend?" He asked.

"I don't have one, dad." I sighed. He kept nagging me. What a typical father, asking about boys like this. "Oh, here's the house, just pull over here."

"Yeah, yeah, okay. Have fun tonight, I'm glad you found some friends." He pulled over to the side of the road in front of the Brooks' house. He looked at me and smiled, "Just call me any time and I'll pick you up. Be safe."

"I know, bye dad." I got out of the car. I quickly looked in the reflection of my phone to make sure my hair looked okay. It didn't look great, but my hair never did. It was at least presentable. I walked up to the door. It was the second time I've been here, but it was the first time I had to knock. Last time I was let in by a janoskian. I hated knocking on doors, it was always so awkward standing there and waiting for them to answer. Then when they did there was awkward hellos and waiting for them to invite you in. If they were close friends it wouldn't be awkward, but they weren't. I knocked on the door and waited. I heard Daniel scream out that I was here. Jordane came to the door, she opened it and let me in.

"Hey, Mari!" Jordane said. She started walking and expected me to follow, so I did. She went into the bathroom where Kat, Jenny, and Mallory were finishing their makeup.

"You all look beautiful." I smiled.

"Aw, thanks, you do too!" Jenny said. I knew I didn't look as good as them because I was a potato, but I tried.

"Thanks. So when are we leaving?" I asked.

"I don't know, whenever, I guess." Jenny replied.

Kat walked out of the bathroom and I heard her shout throughout the house, "Are you boys ready?" I heard a few of them say yes and Daniel shout that he was naked. I couldn't help but laugh.

"That happens a lot, if you stick around long enough then you get used to it." Jordane said when she noticed me laughing.

"I expect it from him anyways. I know how they are in the videos at least." I said. I leaned against the sink.

"Yeah, they're almost exactly like they are in their videos. Except they have girlfriends in the real world." Jenny said. Kat walked back into the bathroom and checked her hair one last time.

"Let's go now!" Mallory said. I kind of forgot she was in the room. She was sitting on the edge of the bath on her phone until now. The girls all agreed and walked out of the bathroom towards the door. The boys must have heard because they came walking in to the room too. Daniel was dressed now of course. They each said hi to me and I waved. They all looked so cute. They weren't all fancied up, not that they had to be, it was just like a high school party. I was still nervous though. I didn't want to be alone while everyone else talked to people I didn't know. We all walked outside and piled into two cars. The boys were in one and the girls in another. The whole ride there, which was only about five minutes, we were talking about who was going to the party to see if I would know anyone. Of course I had no clue who any of these people were. The chances I'd find someone I knew were very small. We arrived when there was already a good amount of people there. You could kind of hear the music and laughter from outside. We all got out of the cars and merged into one group, the boys and the girls. Jenny walked with Daniel, Jordane walked with Jai, Kat walked with James and Mallory walked with Luke. I walked beside the group and Beau was in front of me. He noticed I was walking alone so he slowed down so that we were walking beside each other. He's so sweet. The house was only about 10 meters from the cars but we got a short conversation in before we got to the house.

"Don't worry, Mari, even if you don't know anyone, you've got us." Beau said. We were still walking beside each other.

I looked up at him, "Thanks, Beau."

"You can always hang out with me if everyone else is busy." He said. I saw Kat smile, she must have heard that.

"Aren't you going to be mingling too?" I asked. I was hoping he would say no.

"Well, yeah, but it doesn't mean I won't introduce you to whoever I'm with. And if you want I'd leave them so you weren't alone." Beau looked down at me.

I tried not to smile too much, what he said was really cute and sweet. "Really? You don't have to, but thank you." I looked up at him. He smiled back and then looked forward again. We all walked inside the house, it wasn't too loud but you still had to talk a bit louder than usual so someone would hear you. Immediately everyone in our little group was talking with people I've never seen before. I stood near them so I didn't look alone. I looked around me to see if I knew anyone. It didn't seem like it. But then I felt a tap on my shoulder. I spun around.

"Oh my god." I said. He was gorgeous. He had dark brown hair, deep blue eyes, and tan skin. He wasn't short but he wasn't too tall either, he was a good height. He's changed a lot in four years.

"Marilyn?" He asked, "That's you, right?"

"Yeah, it is! But I go by Mari now." I smiled.

"Wow, it's great to see you. Did you move back here?" He asked.

"No, I'm visiting for the summer." I answered.

"Aw that's too bad." He said, "At least you're here now. Make sure you find me later and we'll talk!" He smiled and walked away into the crowd. Jordane walked up behind me. I think Kat and Jenny were behind Jordane, but I wasn't sure. Mallory was probably making out with Luke in a corner, from what I've seen of them together, they did that a lot.

"Who was that?" Jordane asked from behind me. I kept looking in front of me into the crowd where the boy disappeared.

"My ex-boyfriend. Jake."
