I screamed and squeezed the pillow I was holding. I was lying on the couch fangirling. I was home alone because my dad was still at work. "OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD" I kept saying this over and over. I couldn't believe it. I just met the boys that I've idolized for a year. I never thought I'd find them. This didn't even seem real, how did I just run into them? I should have stayed longer. I should have tried to hang out with them more, maybe get a few more pictures. I decided to fangirl on twitter and tweet the picture I had. I patted my pocket, searching for my phone. A wave of fear washed over me. Where was it? I patted my other pocket. Nothing. I stood up and patted my butt, hoping to find it in my back pockets. Nothing. I searched under the couch cushions and on the floor around the couch. Where was my phone? I needed my phone. I loved my phone. I've never lost it before, how did I lose it this time? "Shit, shit, shit, shit, shit, shit!" I kept repeating as I felt around and under the couch.
I ran to the front door and looked out the window beside it. I didn't see it on the ground. I opened the door to get a better look outside. I really hoped it was there somewhere. I heard a car roll into the driveway. I turned around and saw my dad's car. He was home. Should I tell him I couldn't find my phone? He might get mad. I decided to not tell him until I looked around well enough and knew for sure it was missing.
"Hey Mari! How was your day?" My dad called over to me as he got out of his car. He shut the car door and walked over to hug me.
I tried to smile normally, "It was fine, I went for a walk." I hugged him back.
"That's good. Were you looking for those janosbeans again?" He never could get their name right.
"Janoskians?" I remembered my encounter with them and smiled really big.
"Yeah, how'd that go? Finally meet your boyfriends?" He laughed.
I did a half jump thing, I don't know why, I was just excited. I screamed, "YEAH!" I grabbed my dad's arm and told him how I got a picture with them and how they asked my name. I was talking really quickly.
"What? Really? That's great, Mari! Sounds like a fun day." He replied.
Fun? A fun day? It was way more than a fun day. It was life changing. I met my idols. I finally met the janoskians. It sounded to weird to say it though. It didn't feel like it happened. I heard the phone ring. I went inside with my dad, he asked me to get the phone so I did. It stopped ringing as soon as I reached it. Damn. If it was important, they'd call back. I checked the number, reading it out loud in case my dad recognized it.
Wait. That was my number. It was my cell phone. Someone had it. Someone must have found it and checked my contacts to get this number. I guess I dropped it somewhere. I quickly called the number, hoping whoever had it would pick it up. I heard it ringing, and then I heard a voice.
"Helloooo?" I heard a voice. It was so familiar.
"Oh my god," I whispered.
The voice laughed, "Is this Mari?" I heard some chatter in the background.
"I-" was all I managed to say.
"You left your phone at the park, it was on the ground by the swings. Come back to the park, I'm still here!" The phone call ended after I didn't answer for half a minute. I was too shocked, and really nervous.
I looked in the mirror by the door and fixed my hair, I had to get ready to go to the park to get my phone. I adjusted my clothes and stepped outside. I couldn't stop smiling. I was getting my phone back. From the janoskians. The janoskians had my phone.
