We were back at the Brooks house, Jenny and Kat were still here, plus Jordane joined us. I was sitting on the couch beside James who was beside Kat. Luke was on the other side of Kat. Jenny was sitting on Daniel's lap on a chair, Jai and Jordane were on the floor inbetween the couch and the chair, and Beau was standing up leaning against the wall. It was really awkward because I didn't know any of these girls, and I was just an awkward person to begin with. I had my phone in my hands to pretend like I was doing something to avoid looking lost. I was listening to most of the conversation, but I was too shy to jump in. I was in my own world for a while when I heard my name.
"You're Mari, right?" Jordane asked me.
I nodded, "Um, yeah, that's me."
"I'm Jordane, it's nice to meet you! Are you friends with the boys?" She asked.
I shook my head, "Not really..just a fan."
Jenny laughed, "We started as fans!"
"Really?" I asked. Maybe there was hope. Apparently the Janoskians dated fans.
"Yup, I met James first and then introduced them to the boys!" Kat added.
I smiled and looked up to see what the boys were doing. They were all listening in to our conversation which made me feel uncomfortable. I hated being the center of attention. I fixed my hair nervously. I did that a lot when I was nervous, it was something to do with my hands. They must have noticed I felt uncomfortable because the boys all got up and left the room, they mentioned playing fifa I think.
"Are you okay?" Jordane asked me. I saw she was looking at my hands. They were shaking slightly. Of course I wasn't okay. I was nervous, I was in the Janoskians house, I was with strangers right now, I have no socialization skills, how would I be okay?
"Yeah, I'm fine!" I laughed and crossed my arms to hide my hands.
"Are you fangirling?" Kat asked.
"Of course she is, Kat!" Jenny said to her.
"True. Who's your favourite Janoskian?" Kat asked.
"Daniel." I said before I realized I said it. I immediately looked at Jenny for her reaction, she was his girlfriend. She didn't look mad though, they all just nodded.
"He's the best, but he's mine!" Jenny exclaimed, laughing.
"Yeah, don't worry, I won't take him." I smiled. I hated saying that but I couldn't take him. Not that I would be able to anyways.
"Beau's available!" Jordane whispered excitedly.
"Yeah..so?" I asked. What? Did she want me to date him? I laughed at the thought, it would never happen.
They laughed. Kat said, "Never mind!"
I checked the time on my phone. It was getting late and my dad would be home soon. "I have to go home!"
"Do you live near here?" Jenny asked.
"Not close enough to walk, if that's what you mean." I answered.
"Well the boys won't want to drive you because they're playing fifa. You should just stay the night. We're having a sleepover here tonight!" Jenny said. She invited me without even asking the boys, it was their house. I guess they didn't care though, they all seemed pretty close.
"What? Really? I don't even know you guys that much, I'll feel bad for staying." I frowned. Why did they want me to stay? I barely knew them. Maybe I was actually making friends for once.
"No, really, it's fine!" Jordane said.
"Okay, I guess I'll stay. I have to call my dad though." I held up my phone.
"Yeah, sure. Go ahead!" Kat said.
I got up and walked away from the group. I just stood around the corner from the door to the room we were in. I was in a hallway. I quickly called my dad to tell him that I was staying the night here. It was really weird actually. Why was I staying? I didn't know them and this was the Janoskians house. It didn't feel like it though, I was really calm. I guess the shock wore off. Or maybe I'm still in shock, so I'm not panicking? I don't know. My dad just said it was fine I could stay and that he was glad I had friends. They weren't really friends yet but it was nice of him. I hung up the phone and was about to walk back into the room with the girls when I overheard the boys talking.
"She's alright." Beau said.
"You like her, don't you?" Daniel asked.
"No." Beau replied, he didn't sound convincing. I couldn't see him, but it just sounded like he was smiling. If that made sense. Just by the way he said it.
"She's a Daniel girl anyways!" Luke added, he laughed. I also heard Daniel laugh.
"I know." Beau sighed.
