At first, I her a steady beeping, faintly in the background. It gradually gets louder, and then sounds as if it's next to me. I hear a door open and a man and woman walk in. One of them walks towards me. I feel cold hands on my neck, but I can't move.
"Pulse?" I hear an older man say.
"Normal," the woman says. She's obviously much younger. Maybe in her 30's?
I hear the man ask the woman a few other things, they sound mostly medical, and I begin to try and move.
I can't, but I slowly try and begin to move my fingers. Then, my toes, and then my wrists and ankles.
"Peter, she's waking up," the woman says. I open my eyes and I see a young woman, appearing to be in her 30's. An older man walks up behind her.
"Let me help you up. I'm the pack Doctor, Peter." He walks over to the side of the bed, and grabs a remote. The back begins to sit me up, and not long after I'm fully upright.
The nurse brings in a bottle of water, which she opens. She hands it to me, and I drink it greedily, my throat as dry as a desert.
"Thank you," I say, my voice raspy.
"Nothing to worry about," the nurse says.
The doctor does some medical things. He takes my blood pressure, checks my heartbeat, looks down my throat, that sort of stuff. He asks me some questions, and after about a dozen, my voice goes back to normal. They remove the IVs from my arm and place a bandage on it.
"Peter, I'm going to get Alpha," the nurse says.
"Go ahead Natalie," Peter says.
The nurse, I now know is Natalie, begins heading towards the door.
"Do you have to?" I ask. Natalie turns around and I look at her with pleading eyes.
"I do. Alpha's orders," she says. She turns back around and begins to head out. She opens the door, and begins to speak immediately.
"Oh, Alpha I was just coming to get you. She's woken up."
