"You have a child?" He snarls.
"I-I," I stutter.
"You have a child," he confirms, shooting up from his seat.
"I-I don't, A-Alpha," I whimper.
"So who's first steps are you missing? First birthday?" He roars.
"My brother's," I explain as quickly as I possibly can. He looks at me and I see his expression soften. "I-I have a-a b-brother."
"Oh my god. Brooke, I'm so sorry," he says.
"Just do it already," I say, looking back down at my feet. He sits back down on the bed and looks at me for a moment before realization paints his face. "I was born human even though both of my parents were born to Alphas. I'm not really fit to be Luna. I can't help train, I can't lead runs, I can't hunt-"
"I'm not going to do it," he says. I look at him, and I know he sees my confusion. "I'm not rejecting you. I forced you to go through so much, and you didn't deserve it. I'm going to make it up to you. I want to make you happy, and I will do whatever it takes. If you want a place in this pack, you can have it. If you want to go back to your dad, I'll take you back. If you want to be a rouge you can. If you want to live in a human territory, I'll take you there. If you want to reject me, do it. I want to make you happy." I feel even more confusion cross my face. He takes my hand in his, and looks me in the eye. "I want you to be happy. I really, really do."
"Um, t-thank you A-Alpha," I respond, attempting to pull my hand away from him. He grips it just a tiny bit more so I can't pull away.
"I pushed you to a point where you almost killed yourself because of me." He gently turns my hand over, to reveal my forearm. It's covered in risen scars, reminding me of what I did. He gently runs his thumb over them, causing me to wince. I see he noticed that, and I look down again.
"Brooke, I am so, so sorry. I can't believe I made you do this to yourself."
"I-It's fine Alpha," I say.
"That's the thing. You say it is, and it's not. My own mate is afraid of me. I want to make things right. I want to make you happy. I want to give you the world. You are my world. Brooke, I haven't left you. I was here the entire three weeks you were here." I look up at him, and into his eyes, and he holds my gaze. I search his eyes for any sign that he's lying.
"Did you really?" I whisper.
"Every single moment," he says. I see nothing but truth in his eyes. "Brooke, I'm not going to keep you here if you don't want to stay. But, I'll make a proposal to you. You stay here for two weeks, and after that you can leave if you want or you can stay if that's what you want. While you're here you can call you father, I'll take you home, you can see your brother, you can stay in the pack house with me, and if you want your own room it's all yours."
"Really?"
"Really." I thought about it, unsure weather or not to accept his offer.
"Okay."
