Arriving back at Ryan's sector came up smooth. There were no zekes along our path, nor did we even stumble upon any hunters too.
Robert turned off the engine and unlocked all the doors, all of us came down and went back to Cry. He was waiting in front of a stand.
"So you brought the supplies?" Cry asked. Mark nodded and I followed behind him.
"Yeah, what's inside anyways?" Ken said, his voice bellowed in anticipation.
Robert walked up to the truck and took the last box, placing it on the counter. Cry grabbed my pocket knife, flicked it open and slid it across the tape that secured the box. He opened the lids and pulled out a pile of papers.
"We hit the jackpot boys." He said in excitement.
The fuck? They were all just flops of white sheets with zillions of writing on them. The other boxes had the same thing too. We thought we brought back weapons or for the least, food.
"You set us up?" Robert interrupted, his face growing into emotional agony. "For getting boxes that contain papers?"
Cry laughed then giggled at the last bit. He flipped the paper over to us, showing off the random letters and sentences that made no sense. They were all too 'scientific'.
"These my friends, are the blueprints to finding the cure we needed. With this artifact, we could rule every sector!" Cry said, pulling out a walkie-talkie and calling in Ryan.
"Yo Ryan! We got them. Now, you ready?" Cry said. Something was feeling weird.
Mark inched at me, "Get the papers Jack."
I nodded as I snatched the papers away from Cry's hands. Ken and Robert grabbed all the boxes and placed it behind them.
Ryan walked down the stairs from his office and got over to us. He smirked at Mark and instantly pulled out a gun, pointing at Mark's chest. This made all of us pull out our weapons too but Ryan's battalion popped out from nowhere and lasers were aiming at us. Worse, Matthias who didn't follow us became one of them, a traitor. Lilly and Marzia ran up behind, both were scared straight.
"Now we've got everything, let's say we finish off that contract shall we?" Ryan said, pushing the gun on Mark's chest.
"Fuck you Ryan! You used us! Motherfucker," Mark paused, "you fucking told our location to the hunters didn't you?"
My mind forced itself into a fizzle. The hunters came because of him! Ryan used our sector as bait, bringing us all the way here to do the dirty job.
"Why didn't you fucking use your soldiers!" I growled, aiming my gun at him. "Why!"
"Don't ask me questions Sean."
"I'll fucking shoot you if you don't answer me!"
Ryan bopped the gun over to Robert and shot him in the head. I gasped in fear, horror was planted all over my body. My arms went limp in almost an instant, Robert was gone. His body laid on the ground, half of his head was decimated, blood was found splattered like paint. Lilly and Marzia clasped their mouths running towards the car and going inside.
"If you ask anymore questions boy, you'll be next. Now give me the papers and leave the other boxes behind. There's no point having you here in our sector, Septics." Ryan said, crossing his gun over to Ken and waving it at him.
Mark was right beside me. Ken was gasping his breath in shallow movements. They were both scared as I was.
I could feel something touch my fingers, it was Mark's. He passed something over to me whilst still staying calm. Ryan's anger grew furious, he didn't want to wait any longer. On the tip of my thumb something circular slid over it. There I realized it was a flashbang Mark was holding.
