Chapter 8: Training

"Right," Tony said walking over to his suit, getting in to it and walking opposite you and your suit "The first thing you need to know is how to actually get into your suit. Now... You need to let the suit build around you, don't force yourself in. So to start with, just stand there with your arms out and let the suit build around you."
You stood in front of the suit with your arms out, you jumped a little when you felt the first piece touch you but you let it build anyway. The helmet was the last piece to be put in place, when everything was in place Tony said "When your helmet is on it can read your brainwaves so, in other words you can control the suit with your mind"
"Woah that's so cool!" You said excitedly, you couldn't wait to use it properly.
"Now that you can control the suit, you need to know how to use the weapons" he said "to activate the blasters, raise either of your hands or both of them and think either 'left hand blaster, right hand blaster or both hand blaster'. Why don't you give it a try on those targets over there?"
You turned to the targets raised your left hand and thought 'left hand blaster', a bright beam of light shot out of your hand and hit the person shaped target in the head "Well done" Tony said clapping "did the targeting system work alright?"
"Um, I don't know" you said confused
"I forgot to tell you, when the blasters or the rockets are active, an automatic targeting system activates in your helmet." He said tapping his helmet "You just need to focus on the thing you need to blast and the targeting system will make sure you hit it spot on"
"Ok" you said as you blasted the targets a few more times
"Try this now" Tony said as he picked up a ball and threw it in the air, you blasted it no problem.
"Well done" he said "I think your ready enough to move on to the rockets. The rockets are exactly the same as the blasters, just focus on a point and think 'rockets', give it a try"
You looked at a point on the targets then thought 'rockets' and about 5 rockets flew out of the sides of your arms.
"Very good" he said "there are a few more little things I must explain to you so, this might take a while...

(About half an hour later)

"Did you take all of that in?" He asked
"Yeah, I think so" you said
"Well we've pretty much covered everything," he said "we just need to do flying"
"Oh my god" you said "this is going to be awesome"
"Follow me outside" he said.
You followed him out through some big doors on the side of the room, it lead to a helipad. You stood facing each other,
"This is going to be really hard" Tony said "You need to maintain balance throughout your flight, and it's very hard to do that" You nodded in aknowledgement
"First you need to calm yourself because if you rush the take off then you might mess up your balance" he said. You took a deep breath and became calmer,
"Then you need to think 'fly' and the thrusters will activate" he said as his own thrusters started to work. You thought 'fly' and you saw bright fire beneath you
"You then need to do a small jump just to get you off the ground" he said and jumped, he was hovering above the ground, you tried it but fell flat on your face
"'Oww" you said but stood back up
"No worry, it was your first go after all" Tony said trying to hold back laughs
"I can tell your laughing" you said in a jokingly angry way.
You tried again but fell backwards, you stood up and tried again you fell backwards again but you fell over the edge of the helipad toward the sea!
"Oh my god (Y/N)!" Tony yelled as he flew to the edge, but to his surprise you flew back up onto the helipad
"Aww yeah" you said smugly "check out what I can do, you can't laugh now"
"No I can't, but I'm proud of you" he said "but now you need to learn how to use your hands as a guide"
"I've already figured that out" you said as you flew in circles above Tony's head
"Have you figured out how to land?" Tony asked
"I think so" you said "but I'm not sure"
you stood completely straight as you lowered yourself slowly onto the ground
"Did I do it right? You asked
"Actually, yeah" Tony said amazed "I'm so surprised you did it so well on your first go! Well done!"
"Ha ha thanks" you said "Um, JARVIS said that he is in your suits. Is he in mine too?"
"Yeah, he should be, but I haven't put his drive in yet" Tony said "are there anymore questions now?"
"Uhh yeah" you said "first question, am I allowed to keep the suit after all this is over?, and second question, if I am allowed how am I meant to carry it around?"
"First answer, yes of course you can, second answer, I need to show you something, follow me"
You follow Tony to the screens back in his workroom, he sits down and shows you a picture of a backpack,
"It's a backpack" you said
"Yes but, I've configured the suit to turn into this backpack when you want to carry it around" he replies.
"Woah really?" You said as you get out if the suit (Tony explained how to do it earlier) "how do I do it?
"You need to press this button here" he said as he points to a button in the chest of the suit, you lift up the protective casing and press the button. The suit starts getting smaller and smaller until it becomes a backpack
"Oh my gosh this is awesome" you said as you put it on
"And to convert it back, you open it up and press the button on the inside, and it should become the suit again"
He said as he pointed to button
"Thank you for all of this" you said as you hugged Tony
"Woah, woah, woah" he said "don't hug me, I'm not a hugger"
"Sorry" you said as you let go "but seriously now, thank you for everything"
"Not a problem" he said smiling "now go upstairs and do something while I put the drives in your suit"
"Ok" you said as you placed your hand on the scanner "um Tony, is there somewhere I could sleep because im really tired?"
"Yeah, go to the living room but don't go in, take a left and there will be a room at the end of the corridor, that's your room" he said still working
"Ok thanks, good night see you tomorrow" you say as you walk out of the room and to your bedroom.
