Chapter​ 19: Fire

You didn't feel like going to school the next day, you just stayed in bed and felt awful. You didn't know why you felt like this but you knew you need to talk to someone. You couldn't speak to Peter, you couldn't speak to your parents so you decided to call Tony, he is like your cool uncle after all even your phone contact for him was 'Cool Uncle Tony😎'
You called him.

(T= Tony, Y=You)

T: 'yellow
Y: Hey Tony
T: You sound troubled, what's wrong? Is it Peter?
Y: Um yeah
T: What's he done now?
Y: Um, he has this girlfriend but she doesn't love him and he's ignoring me because she's manipulating him
T: wow, she sounds like a bitch
Y: I know right! I don't know what to do, it's making me really upset every time I see him with her
T: Honestly, you should beat her to the ground
Y: I would... Buuuut I would be expelled for that and Peter would probably hate me
T: You could make him jealous? Or you could be totally badass so he has no choice but to fall in love with you and ignore that other hoe

You blushed at this statement but soon replied.

Y: I have an idea! I could do something so heroic that I will get on TV and everyone will be talking about me, then Peter might not be so blinded by her!
T: Yeah sure that might work too
Y: Thank you Cool Uncle Tony!
T: No problem​ Badass Child (Y/N)

You and Tony laughed at each others names and hung up.

You put your phone on the side and flicked on the TV. You saw that news reporters were filming a shopping complex engulfed in flames. You only caught a few words which the reporter said.
"Shopping complex engulfed in flames with 37 people still inside. Firefighters are doing all they can."
You vaulted over your couch and ran as fast as you could to your suit, you thought it wasn't a very good idea considering your suit was made of metal but if you could rescue people it was worth it. You jumped out of your window and flew to the complex. You landed next to the chief firefighter as the TV camera followed you.
"How many people are in there Sir?" you said to the Chief.
"37 including a firefighting squad, but you can't go in there, it's too dangerous." He said
Suddenly Spiderman landed next to you, you glanced at him and turned back to the Chief.
"What's the easiest way to get in?" You asked
"Through the front" he replied.
You began to march toward the building and Spidey followed you.
"What are you doing?" You asked him
"Rescuing people" he said flatly. He opened the door and flames spat at him, you had just enough time to shield him with your body. You were pretty sure his suit wasn't fire resistant.
"What are you doing!? Let me in!" He almost shouted
"Your suit isn't fire resistant so don't even risk it." You replied
"Your suit it metal, that isn't good with fire either!" He shouted
You grabbed him and used the strength from your suit to throw him back. You marched into the fire.
"What are you doing!? It's dangerous!" Was the last thing you heard before the heat of the flames started to heat up your suit. You flew around and found 15 people huddled in the corner of a burning room, you quickly retrieved them and handed them over to the paramedics. You found another 15 and the group of 5 firefighters and brought them out. By now your skin was burning from the heat of the metal. You searched frantically for the other two people when you noticed the building was beginning to crumble. You dodged falling bits of flaming debris until you finally found the other two people, they weren't moving and one woman was trapped underneath some burning timber. You quickly took the one person out and went back for the trapped woman. You tried to lift the wood but it was too heavy, the roof collapsed. Is was about to land on the woman but you dropped to all fours and protected her with your body. You stayed there for a few moments, you could see daylight and the timber had stopped burning. You looked around and saw that the firefighters were spraying water into the area because the roof had collapsed. You slowly stood up and pulled the woman out from underneath her prison. You picked her up in your arms and stumbled to the paramedics, you handed her over and collapsed to the floor. Your whole body was burning from the sheer heat of your suit, news reporters and cameras swarmed you and started questioning you. You ignored them and took off your suit except for your your helmet so you could keep your identity secret. Some paramedics ran up to you and examined your burns. You looked at your body, most of your burns were first degree but a few were second. You sat up and stumbled to the ambulance so the medics could treat you, the news people still followed you.
You sat down "okay, I'll accept questions now" you said and someone pushed a microphone in your face.
"Why did you go into that burning building knowing full well that you would get hurt?" They asked
"Because I knew that the people inside were the priority, it doesn't matter if I'm hurt" you replied
"How badly hurt are you?"
"I have most first degree burns which aren't too bad but I do have a few second degree burns which hurt quite a lot"
"Why did you not allow Spiderman inside the building?"
You thought for a moment and glanced at Spidey who was stood in the background talking to the victims,
"Because I know his suit isn't fire resistant and if I'm honest, Queens would crumble without him. He is the main superhero after all"
A lot more questions were asked and answered until you had had enough, you put your suit back on and flew home. You got home, took your suit off and slouched on your couch. Your phone rang making you jump, it was your Mom.
"Hey Mom"
"I saw what happened to the complex on TV, are you ok sweetie? I know it is near you and I know you like shopping"
You glanced down at your body
"Yeah Mom I'm fine, I wasn't there when it happened"
"Oh good, I would never forgive myself if anything happened to you"
"I'm fine Mom I promise"
"Isn't (S/H/N) amazing though, whoever she is must be so brave"
"Yeah I guess so"
"Oop, I have to go now. Sorry I can't talk longer but I'm going out with your father"
"It's okay, hope you have a nice time. I'll text you later"
"Thank you sweetie, talk to you later. Love you bye."
"Love you too Mom, bye."

You hated lying to your parents and you wanted to cry, the guilt was building up inside you. You turned on the TV and saw you on there, saving people from the building that was burning just an hour ago.

You sighed and decided to go to bed.
