I skate in the busiest part of New York. Times Square. I ride on the side path. Millions of people flash beside me. I identify the people around me by the clothes and jewelry. Why? Let me explain.

I'm a thief.

For survival.

Just for the fun of it.

I notice a man in a polo shirt. He's talking through the newest of the newest phone. His eyes darting from corner to corner.  meaning his rich, Jackpot! I push for speed. My skateboard picks up speed.  I zoom past the man. My hand slides into his pocket. Grabbing his wallet. I ride away.

A smirk on my face and wallet in my hand. Life can't be any better. People are oblivious to their surroundings. That man won't notice his wallet until he checks his pocket. I ride until I'm far enough from the man. I stop at the stop street of Darling CNR. I rest my skateboard on the wall. My back hits the wall. I take the wallet out of my pocket.

$500 U.S dollars.  My lucky day!

I smile to myself, I put the wallet back in my pocket. I'm about to grab my skateboard when I hear a voice. "Thalia!"  My head jerks to the voice. It was Noah. A druggist.  "Hi, Noah."  I smile. He might be a druggist but his my friend. I won't take ever take drugs. I'm a thief. I need as much as common sense I can get, taking drugs won't give me common sense. Taking it will...well I actually don't know.

"How are you, Thalia?" He asks me.

"Fine, and you?"

"Perfect." He says. Seeing him now...he doesn't look like a druggist anymore. He looks...perfectly fine.

"Noah, you look different..."

He laughs. "Do I?"

"Yeah," I say eyeing him wearily.

"Oh, I haven't told you have I?"

"Tell me what?"

"I went to rehab."

WHAT!?

"Say again."

"I went to rehab." He says calmly.

" I can't believe this." I say rubbing my the bridge of my nose.

"Your mad at me?" He asks

"No. I'm just surprised." I say frustrated, meaning that I am mad.

"Thalia, I feel better. I feel like this can be better for me ."

"Whatever Noah. Whatever." I say walking away.

"Thalia..."

"Gotta go Noah. Bye" I bid him a goodbye, as I jump on my skateboard as I ride away.

I'm a thief and no one can change it!

Three things you need\want in life

Freedom.

Trust.

Friendship.

I lost friendship and trust today.  What next, my freedom?

Hi, guys! It's Alex!

This book was my idea from my friend Maddy. Thank you, Maddy! She is the second author of this book. I'm really excited to write this book. I loved skateboarding. Still do. The stealing was for my friend Caleb.
