Chapter 21: Dude

I woke up to an empty bed. Figuring Alex is probably making breakfast downstairs, I checked my phone before walking downstairs as well.

As I entered the kitchen area I noticed Alex standing by the stove, with one of my plaid red and black flannels that looked a little big on her, and no pants. I quickly took out my phone and snapped a few pictures without her looking.

"Hey Alex." I called to her and as soon as she turned around to face me, I snapped a few more pictures.

"Wow you did a lot of work." Alex said as she sat by the computer, looking at the files.

"Yeah well, I didn't have anything else to do, so..." Tobin said as she poured herself a cup of coffee.

"What has gotten into you? I feel like I haven't seen you at all this week because you've been writing so much." Alex said as she gently massaged Tobin's shoulders.

"Trust me Lex, when you'll write you will understand." Tobin chuckled. "I'm sorry though. I'll try to be here more for you." Tobin said and kissed Alex.

"Good. Now get to work." Alex laughed and gave Tobin's butt a little smack as she walked by.

"Did you just take a picture of me?" Alex laughed.

"Yes." I grinned. "You look beautiful this morning." I kissed her on the head.

"Because any other morning I look like shit right?" She chuckled.

"No. Well..." She glared at me. "I'm kidding babe. You are beautiful all the time." I kissed her lovingly on the lips.

We quickly ate breakfast and headed to school. The first class went by quick, but after my second class which was chemistry, the teacher asked to see me after class.

"You wanted to see me Mr. B?" I asked as I approached my favorite teacher.

"Yeah, hey Tobin. I just wanted to talk to you about your grades lately."

Fearing the worst, I immediately began to worry. "Is there something wrong? I promise I'll try harder Mr. B." I rambled.

"Calm down Tobin." He chuckled. "There's nothing wrong. Quite the opposite. Your grades have improved lately. Good job. I'm proud of you." He smiled.

"Wow, thank you Mr. B." I grinned. I walked towards my next class feeling like I could take on any task the world gave me. But I didn't count the task that was Kelley O'Hara. We haven't talked since our fight, and I've really missed her. So at the end of the class I asked her if we could talk.

"Hey. Thanks for waiting for me. Look, I really need my best friend back. And I'm sorry I didn't tell you but you have to understand I just wasn't ready." I said.

"It's ok. I did some thinking over the weekend and maybe I overreacted a little." She sighed.

"Kelley O'Hara admitting she was wrong?" I fake gasped.

"I wasn't wrong! I just simply overreacted that's all. Best friends again?" She smiled.

"Best friends." I grinned and hugged her tightly. "I really did miss you."

"Me too Tobito. Me too. Come on, let's get lunch. How are you and Alex?" Kelley asked as we passed the halls.

"We're great. She's great." I smiled.
