I met you when I was 16
Living the teenage "dream"
Working, studying, and trying not to scream
I'd lose my mind
From time to time
And when it came to guys I was just blind
Then you came along one day and we started to chat
You made me laugh and more of that
But I've never been good with guys
And with that I never knew how to compromise
Another girl
Another girl
She swooped on in and became your world
We still talk from time to time
But I know you're fine
And you'll never be mine
I'm not one to disrespect
Not one to be put in check
You're taken
Not mistaken
You're off limits now
But I think about you and can't stop somehow
I've written poems about you
Songs about you
But you couldn't understand
When another lady has your hand
