Thinking about summer
Thinking about being free
But it doesn't start at age 17
What is 17
But a transition age?
Between getting your license
And becoming an adult?
16 is boring me
Bring on 17
But don't make me wait too long for 18
I'm becoming impatient
See, I don't believe that I know the world
But I know who I am so that's a start
I'm being smothered by my family and I just want out
17 is a child
But 18 is on my own?
I fail to understand the logic in this
But I'll be taking it on soon
I want the wind in my hair
My words on a page
Screaming of years that I've held back
But it doesn't start for 15 more months
