"Gideon?" Pacifica exclaimed, stunned by his presence.
"Pacifica!" Gideon replied, face lighting up as he saw that she had finally arrived.
"Oh Gideon!" She yelled once more, jumping from her seat to embrace her friend. After a moment, Pacifica let go to look at his outfit. Today he had decided on an orange shirt and dark blue vest, with his tan star hat stuffed on his head, showing most of his thick white hair from under it. Pacifica smiled, thinking of how she had bought that hat for him years ago.
"You've grown since I last saw you!" Pacifica exclaimed, comparing his height to hers, and it was true. Even though he was younger than her, Gideon was slightly taller than her, much taller than the last time they had seen each other face to face. They had talked over the phone of course, the last time being when she had to tell him she was leaving, but it hadn't been that long at all. Pacifica smiled as she thought about how short he had been the last time she had seen him. It was just so unbelievable.
"Wait." Pacifica said, brow furrowed, backing away from Gideon." Why are you going to reverse falls?" She asked, thoroughly confused.
"Well." Gideon started, scratching the back of his head." Your mom called my parents and asked if I would accompany you over the summer. They're very nervous and want me to make sure you don't get into any trouble." Pacifica was shocked. Her parents should know that she could take care of herself. Who was the one who climbed the tree to get her bags or built a bench all by herself?" I mean, if that's ok with you?" Gideon asked, peering upwards at her, concern in his voice. Pacifica was sure that her expression was not helping his nerves so she put on a smile and replied.
"No, I'm just so glad your coming with me!" Pacifica exclaimed, pushing her parents out of her mind. She would just have to have a talk with them later. Relief spread across Gideon's face as her sat back down and gestured for her to do so as well. That was when it hit her. Robbie. Pacifica froze, wondering what she was going to say after just ignoring him like that. Luckily, Robbie was the one who made the first move.
"Hey Pacifica." He said, an amused smile on his face left from watching such a scene unfold. Pacifica turned around and smiled.
"H-hey Robbie. I didn't see you there." Pacifica said, a worried smile on her face. Robbie chuckled at that, probably thinking of how stupid she was if she thought he was going to believe that.
"Well, i see your going to reverse falls. Got friends there or something?" Pacifica relaxed, glad he wasn't mad at her attempt at a lie.
"Actually, my Grunkle lives there, so I'm going to visit him for the summer. Along with Gideon of course." Pacifica thought it wouldn't be right to leave him out of the conversation, so she gestured to Gideon. At the sound of his name, Gideon lifted his head from the book he had gotten out and looked st Robbie.
"Hey." He said, raising a hand and then going back to his book. Pacifica chuckled and then looked at Robbie.
"So what are you going to reverse falls for?" Pacifica asked, resting her head on the back of her chair, head facing him.
"Well I live there for one." Robbie started, copying Pacifica and resting his head on the front of his chair." Also my girlfriend is there, she works at the mystery shack." Robbie finished. Pacifica's face fell, but only for a second. Of course someone as amazing as him had a girlfriend. Then there was the mystery shack part.
"My Grunkle runs the mystery shack!" Pacifica exclaimed, glad that she was going to have a little forewarning about his girlfriend. Robbie's face lit up at the mention of her Grunkle.
