   "But I-"

"SILENCE!" Came a voice, bellowing through the mansion like a a roar through a giant cave. The girl whimpered as she kneeled in front of her father's throne.

"Father it's not-" her brother started, bringing his head up.

"Don't... You... Oppose me." Their father said speaking through his teeth, his voice getting dangerously soft."You two had one job, and you failed." At this he quickly rose and started pacing around the twins."Once more." Their father stated, stopping his circling in front of his throne. Relief instantly spread across the twins faces as they quickly nodded."Then go." He said, fixing each of them with a terrifying stare."And don't fail me again."

Pacifica's room was the cleanest it'd ever been. Her mother had insisted that she pack away all of her belongings into big boxes and to take only the bare necessities, though she had secretly packed her duffel bag with all kinds of things that definitely wouldn't classify as necessities. If she was going to leave her home, then she was at least going to have some of her home come with her. Inside her glittery pink and yellow duffel have we're her two stuffed llamas whom she had named Sprinkle and Sprinklette due to the fact that they were sprinkle llamas, AKA they had sprinkle patterns on them, but that was not important. There was one last thing that she needed to pack. With a glance at the door, Pacifica pulled her stool over to her big oak wardrobe which once belonged to her grandmother, and stood on the stool, making her nearly a foot taller then she actually was, allowing her to reach the book perched on the top of the wardrobe. This book was something nobody knew about, and was her deepest darkest secret. Not even her best friend knew about this. With a quick flip through the pages, she put the book in her backpack, grabbed her suitcase and duffel bag, then headed out the door. A quick glance down the stairs showed that this was not going to be and easy task. After minutes of hard work and labored breathing, Pacifica had made it down one step. Well, at least it was progress.

The cold mist sneaked around the night, causing all people brave enough to be traveling in this frozen weather to stop and shudder. A girl was speed walking on the sidewalks of gravity falls, attempting to put as much distance between her and her prison as possible.

"Mabel!" Came the voice of her brother, keeping a quick jog to catch up with her."What are you doing?" He asked, walking up behind her, quickly taking off his jacket and putting it around her.

"Dipper, I don't think I can for this anymore."She said, abruptly stopping to reply. With tears in her eyes, she let out a sigh and sunk into her brother's open arms.

"Mabel." He started."We'll get through it, we always do." He said, and with that, grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the mansion.

"But-" Mabel started, eyes wide in fear, contemplating running for the mystery shack, hoping that there she could take cover. Dipper gave her his prized smile, and all thoughts of escaping fled her mind. With her brother she was safe. Nothing could ever beat the Mystery twins.

"Ok." She finally replied, and let her brother drag her away.

Pacifica had, after hours of sweat and tears, made it down the staircase. She was sure that after this, she would never see stairs in the same light."Hey dad?" She said, walking up to her father who was lounging on the sofa.

"Yes Pacifica?" He asked, peeling his eyes from the newspaper he had been reading. Pacifica noticed he was turned to the comic section and had to hold back a laugh. Her dad acted like a rock, but on the inside he was just a big fuzzy teddy her.

"Do you know when I'm leaving visit Grunkle Ford?" Pacifica asked, her curiosity showing in her face. At this, her father's face became stony and his eyes distant, as if the energy had been zapped out of him.

"The bus will be here shortly." Her father said after a short pause. Pacifica gasped a little and stumbled back, surprised that her departure was so soon. Once she had recovered from her trip, Pacifica looked into her father's eyes which, for the first time in forever, we're lined with tears. Her father quickly turned his head to look down t the newspaper once again. Pacifica hesitantly held her hand above her father's shoulder, urging herself to comfort him, but it was then that she realized that she didn't know how. In all the time she had known her father, he had never seemed sad or weary. Mostly he was excited or angry, no in between, no other emotions. It was then that she saw her father in a different light, and that changed everything. Without a second thought or even a moment to consider what she was doing, Pacifica ran around the couch, and fell on top of her father in a weird but affectionate embrace.

"Don't worry dad, I'll be fine,"Pacifica said, raising her head from her father's chest to look at him. He smiled at his daughter's attempts to cheer him up and was beaming with pride by the time she got off him.

"Your going to make a wonderful adult some day." He said, smiling sadly and twisting his hair."Now go. Say goodbye to your mother before you go." He said,"And, I love you." Pacifica embraced her dad one last time and walked out the door, thinking of the grand adventures that she would have with her uncle. Who knows, maybe she would make some new friends her age. Using that thought to propel herself forward, Pacifica ran into the woods to find her mother.
