Chapter 10

*****Aodhan’s point of view*****

“Hello?” she called into the lonely looking house.

There were pictures on the walls of the hallway we were in. All of them were pictures of Branna, either younger or older but they were all of her. I thought it was sweet how much they loved her, she needed that in her life.

“Branna?! Branna! We’ve been so worried about you!” a voice cried from another part of the house.

Branna quickly ran in the direction of the voice and we swiftly followed. I loved the way her hair bounced when she ran, it was beautiful, she was beautiful. I looked to see the others all smiling and wondered what they were thinking. I knew they all had the hots for her, but let’s be honest, who wouldn’t? But were any of them willing to make a move on her? The thought made my blood boil angrily for some strange reason that I couldn’t analyse. I didn’t like Branna that way, we were just friends, in fact, I hardly knew her. We only met a few days ago.

We were on a new task as always when we met Branna. Some girl in the area was in distress and in danger of her life and of course we had to help her. We didn’t get to know who she was; we had to find out for ourselves. But we were told it would be clear. We still haven’t found her.

As soon as we entered the living room I knew something was up. I could tell the others felt it too. Then I saw him. He was standing next to a pretty looking woman. She had worried lines on her forehead and as far as I could tell, she was human. The man on the other hand, he had worried lines but I knew he wasn’t worried about Branna, and he certainly wasn’t human.

Branna ran towards them and threw her fragile little arms around their necks. The woman looked overjoyed, but the man looked angry. I had to do something; he was going to hurt her. I couldn’t let him hurt her!

                “BRANNA!” I yelled at her.

She turned around in surprise and I saw his slimy hand go around her little neck. She looked surprised and then she looked in pain as his grip tightened. I felt helpless. I wished there was something I could do to help her, in fact, everything inside of me was screaming at me to help her. He wasn’t killing her, I knew that much, she was too important to him, but he was definitely hurting her and it made my heart break.

I saw the woman look around in shock and then yell at the man.

“Kieran! Let go of her!” she yelled in shock.

Kieran simply back handed the woman across the face that sent her to the floor. I saw a flash of pain go across Branna’s face, but it was soon replaced with hatred and anger. I knew I had to calm her down before something bad happened.

“So, you finally found her then?” Kieran asked us with a smirk.

I shot a look of confusion to Carrick, Dillon and Declan who all looked back at me with the same expression.

“I am a little confused though, why bring her back to the man who wants take what she can do and use it for the ‘wrong reasons’?” Kieran asked. I could hear the quotation marks in his voice.

I didn’t say anything, just continued to look confused.

“Oh, so you don’t know then?” he asked with a smirk.

                “Don’t know what?” I spat.

“Well I won’t tell you now; you’ll take her off me for sure.” Kieran said.
