Chapter 17

Soon enough, it was Saturday and I was getting ready for the party with Aislinn in her room. We had glasses of champagne and strawberries in a bowl whilst the stylists that Aislinn had hired were doing our hair and make-up. One of those stylists included the wonderful Will.

                “I’ve got to say, this is the best day ever!” I smiled delightedly.

We were both sat next to each other with identical strawberry face masks on and our hair in rollers. She giggled and nodded in agreement. I picked up the champagne bottle to pour myself more champagne and was disappointed when I found it empty.

                “Want to make a trip down to the kitchen to get some more champagne?” I asked Aislinn.

                “Sure, why not?” she grinned.

We walked down to the kitchen and went straight towards the kitchen. The radio was on in the kitchen and my favourite song started playing.

                “Turn it up!” I yelled to Aislinn.

                “I love this song!” she squealed, obliging my request.

I pulled the champagne out and alongside it, a tub of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. Aislinn handed me a spoon and we dug in whilst singing.

                “Boy, I will be your sexy silk, wrap me around, 'round, 'round, 'round!” I sang enthusiastically.

Aislinn sang along joyfully and we danced around the kitchen together, and when the chorus started playing, we both started singing into our spoons at the top of our voices.

                “Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, boy you're gonna win! Say 'yeah, yeah, yeah' you're under my skin, I got butterflies within! Ohhhh! I think I like you!” we sang together enthusiastically.

Someone cleared their throats from the doorway and we both dropped our spoons on the counter and looked sheepishly towards the doorway where all the boys stood.

                “Erm, how long have you been standing there?” I asked.

                “Since the beginning of the song.” Aodhan smirked.

Dillon walked towards me and wrapped his arm around my waist.

                “Babe, I would seduce you any time.” He winked.

I knew he was referring to the previous song lyrics so I swatted at him and he ducked, laughing.

                “You guys look scary, what’s on your face?” Carrick asked.

                “It’s what we look like without make-up.” Aislinn said matter-of-factly.

I laughed and she joined in.

                “I hope you’re not wearing that for the party tonight.” Dillon said.

                “But Dillon, I thought you said that I was beautiful no matter what? And that you would seduce me anytime?” I teased him.
