Chapter 19

I woke up the next morning. My head was pounding and I was shivering. I was in bed back at home… well, back at the safe house. I looked around and saw Carrick sat at my bed side. When he saw that I was awake he smiled warmly at me.

“Hey, good to see you’re finally awake. Do you feel nauseous?” he asked.

“No, I’m fine, I just have a killer head ache. What happened after I passed out?” I asked.

“Well, Aodhan punched the crap out of Niall, and Dillon decided to take Symphony home for himself, so she is here this morning.” He winked.

I groaned and rubbed my hands over my face. When I looked down at my hands and didn’t see them covered in black make-up I frowned in confusion.

“Who took my make up off?” I asked.

Carrick smiled sheepishly at me and I realised that it was him. I felt comforted by that thought, he was looking out for me and he didn’t hate me for kissing Niall.

“That would be me. Aislinn dressed you into the pyjamas, but I took your make-up off and put you into bed.” He smiled.

“Did you stay here all night?” I asked.

“Yeah, I didn’t want you to wake up and panic in the middle of the night.” He admitted.

“I can see why your name means rock now, it’s not just because of your physical strength, it’s for your ability to be there for people when they’re having a hard time.” I smiled.

“Thanks, Branna. Do you want to get showered and everything and meet us downstairs for some breakfast?” he asked.

“Yeah sure.” I smiled.

Carrick left me and I had a shower and scrunched my hair whilst drying it to make crazy curls that flowed down my back. I got changed into a pair of jeans and a tee shirt and I went downstairs and into the kitchen.

I was met with Carrick, Dillon, Aislinn and Symphony. Aodhan, Niall and Declan were nowhere to be found. I shrugged and went and sat down next to Aislinn.

“Hey, are you okay?” she smiled.

“Yeah, you?” I asked.

“Oh I’m just peachy.” She frowned, shooting a death glare at Symphony.

I laughed silently to myself, it seemed like Aislinn hated her just as much as I did.

“You hungry?” Carrick asked.

“I could murder a bowl of cereal.” I admitted.

Carrick grinned and got me a bowl and a spoon. He then pulled out a box of Cheerios and a carton of milk and put them on the counter in front of me.

“Thanks.” I smiled.

“Ooh, it’s got manners.” Symphony said from opposite me.

“Oh shut up, Symphony.” Carrick said.

I rolled my eyes and looked at Dillon who looked like he was really regretting what he did last night.

Symphony was sat next to him in nothing but one of his over-sized tops which really added to her whorish reputation.

I poured myself the cereal and the milk and took a huge spoonful, sighing as the food filled a gap in my stomach. I carried on eating and didn’t notice that everyone had gone silent until I finished my Cheerios with a satisfied smile. They were all staring at something behind me so I quickly turned around. Niall was stood in the doorway with a sheepish look on his face. He had a huge black eye and he looked tired.
