Chapter 15

As soon as we got back to the house, I went upstairs and headed straight for me bedroom. I was feeling… I couldn’t explain how I was feeling, but it was strong, whatever it was.

“Branna…” Declan said to me in a warning voice.

I ignored him and continued heading up the stairs. That’s when it hit me. This feeling that I was experiencing, it wasn’t by coincidence, this had happened to me before, except I wasn’t being beaten up this time and the pain isn’t half as strong.

I froze halfway up the stairs, my heart thundering in my ears as I could feel my body fall backwards. I grabbed onto the wall next to me and pushed myself upright.

“Branna… what’s happening?” Declan asked me, suddenly beside me.

“What’s wrong?” Aodhan called from the bottom of the stairs.

A pain erupted in my body and I quickly moved from my frozen position and bolted towards the workout room. I ran through the door and locked it behind me.

“Branna! Open this door right now!” Declan banged on the door.

“Branna? Sweetie, what’s wrong?” Aislinn called sweetly through the door.

“Branna! Let me help you!” Aodhan called.

I pushed all of their voices out of my head and fell onto my knees. I cried out in the agony I was feeling in my back and somewhere inside of my chest.

                “Branna?” I heard Dillon say.

He was somewhere in the room. I vaguely remember him going into the house before me; he had probably come to the workout room to vent all of his frustrations about our ruined dinner.

“Branna? Are you okay?” Dillon asked cautiously.

“Dillon… help me.” I begged from the floor.

I was trying to clutch at the padded floor to make the pain make its way to my hands and move away from my chest and my back.

Dillon ran to the door and unlocked it. Aodhan, Declan, Aislinn and Niall ran in. Carrick was obviously elsewhere.

Declan ran over and knelt beside me. He smoothed the hair back of my forehead as I cried and screamed when the pain became unbearable.

“Calm down, just calm down.” Declan whispered in my ear.

I could see Aodhan’s shoes pacing the floor and then Aislinn stop him and whisper something to him.

                “I can’t calm down.” I cried out.

“Declan, move out the way.” Aislinn said forcefully.

Declan did as she said and immediately moved from my side. I felt the loss of his comfort as soon as he was gone and I wanted someone there to help me get through this problem that I had.

Aislinn knelt in front of me and tilted my chin up to look her in the eye.

“This might hurt a bit.” She said truthfully.

I nodded and she put her fingertips on my temples. Her fingers burnt my temples and made me scream in pain. I smacked her hands away and clutched the side of my head and rocked myself back and forth.
